Hey guys,

We picked it up yesterday;p It will live here in Ohio.
the truck will be kept as original as possible, other than just a few very slight safety changes. Any suggestions for preserving it will be appreciated. It was an Arizona truck, and the past 4 years in Ohio has caused some surface rust to come on. It has not been driven in salt but the moist winters and spring are starting to have an effect on all surfaces. My son did some research and his finding was to use naval jelly to clean the rust off and then use a good wax to stop the rust. A few areas have been painted years in and out so it is not all original paint. It will be stored in winters and it may need to be painted to preserve its' pristine original condition. It has not had any metal work and it is very solid throughout. Our plan is to drive it this fall to see what needs to be done over winter.

Any thoughts on the paint would be appreciated.

It does indeed need some mechanical attention, rear main is leaking pretty bad. So if we do that the clutch and throwout bearing will be replaced as well. But it seems to purr like a well fed cat and the gears work and the three on the tree is awesome.

Brakes are a little weak as stated and I would consider for safety to go to a front disc/rear drum, dual circuit system just to prevent any safety issues.

But in general just a good clean and attention to mechanical needs. PO kept up meticulous oil changes and was a good owner for the past years. He wanted it to go to a good home and I will try to live up to his expectations.
