Where in southern Ohio?

My tractor shed.

The Dune Beige one is still for sale.

In case you're viewing this ad but are unable to PM or email me, my number is nine 3 7 5 eight seven five four 5 eight.

Thanks to everyone for the supportive comments you've posted about my truck. I've had one person show up for a look at the truck and test drive, but so far no sale.

This might be the last time I bump the thread. If it doesn't sell this time around I'll probably just take it off the market for a while. I still enjoy driving it and it's the only vehicle I have that can get into one of my favorite hunting spots. (My F250 can do it, but it's a pig and bottoms out on some of the rougher sections of trail).

Anyway, thanks for all of the interest.

One last bump.

I've had a lot of emails and phone calls. It seems as if some people may have been put off by the way I've described my fj40 in the ad (needing restoration, etc).

My whole intent has been to give an honest and accurate representation of the truck. I would hate for someone to travel a long distance to see the truck only to be disappointed because the vehicle wasn't what they were expecting.

It is not a new vehicle. But it is a driveable, original condition, unmolested FJ40 with a minimum of rust. It is a rugged, off-road oriented truck with few (none really) creature comforts. It's bare-bones simple and very "old school".

I enjoy this truck just as it is. I've had more than one person suggest that one of the coolest things about this truck is that it is NOT restored (original paint and patina). A cute girl at the gas station complimented the truck just yesterday, for what that's worth.

I work as an airline pilot. I've had a lot of time off recently to fool around with selling this truck. However I will soon be heading off to training on a different aircraft type than I am currently flying. That means I won't be home much for a while and, since I run a small horse farm too, I'll have a lot of "irons in the fire" when I am home. I won't really have much time to be a car salesman.

I still like this truck and hunting season is just around the corner. My little friend likes it too.

Last chance to buy this FJ40 this year. Not for sale after July 1st.

I cannot believe no one has bought this yet! I think someone is trying to tell you something, diesel9...keep it! I have a 68 that is about 80% as original as this and I would love to have this one too but, just like a lot of other folks, it's just too far away (plus I have about ten too many projects going on right now!) You were meant to keep this thing. Personally I'd take it to a decent mechanic, put about a grand into making it safe, dependable and roadworthy and keep it forever.

That "decent mechanic" is Jim Chenoweth up in Lancaster, OH. A superior cruiser mechanic that will "get it" and honor the original nature of the truck.

I truly wish I had the money to buy this...

$5k eh,
damn good price
tell yah what, you buy my Bj70 and i will take this one in trade and give it a good home.

I want this bad. Just what I'm looking for but it will be a couple weeks before I know if I can pull the trigger.

Well, I had decided not to sell FJ40 but recently I have been getting a lot of interest in it again. I guess folks are digging deep into the older ads on this forum. I took it off the market because I was just too busy to fool around with selling it, plus I like the truck anyway. I have a lot of fun with it and it takes me places that my other vehicles cannot.

I have a couple of guys that seem really serious about buying the truck right now. But I have had these deals fall through before. So if someone really wants to buy this FJ40, here it is one more time.

I've already posted a lot of pics and descriptions and I'll post a couple more here.

I'll just make this comment on the condition of the vehicle. It is currently a running, driveable, original condition FJ40.

However, to put it bluntly, if you buy this truck you should do so with the assumption that every mechanical component will need to be cleaned, rebuilt, or replaced. The engine, tranny, transfer, and diffs seem OK, so maybe they just need to be cleaned and have new seals/gaskets installed. Also assume that every part of the body will need to be sanded/sandblasted, primed and painted.

It's an old truck. Rather than trying to describe every issue it may have to 50 different potential buyers, I think the above statement about its condition should cover all the bases.

Also, the best way to contact me is by calling my cell phone nine 3 7 7 seven nine 69 five 0. I'm not reallly into computers, so emails and pm's may not get answered very quickly or at all.

Yesh... its killing me too... if I just didn't have a kid in college!

Would it be a LC travesty if I were to buy this and do semi restomod, leaving the metal how it is original, and sliding in a V8, auto, and suspension?

Do what you like... but if you do that I'll lead the team that will hunt you down and make you suffer for it...

If you want to do that to a 40 find one that is not quite so original... please.

i have a feeling the cruiser gods will curse you till you die if you molest this beauty
i agree with woy on this one...

I volunteer for the squad. If I could just sell my 911 I would be all over this 40...

Only because you said please, but I'll give you my address if you want to bring a "squad" :flipoff2:
I still might pick this up depending on how the relocation package works out for my new position. Slee will be minutes away and I'm sure he will take care of it. An original one wouldn't be bad to have also.
