What gears are you guys running? 4.56 or 4.88 on the rear diff and why
4.11 because that’s the way she came (giggity).

A1 Transmission is going through it right now looks like the valve body was bad and they said one of the gears is scorched or something, they’re rebuilding it new right now … let’s see what happens along with a heavy duty torque converter upgrade

This place can rebuild torque converters to heavy duty to have more power low end - only costs $350 to rebuild the torque converter !

Once I try it out I’ll let you guys know how it goes

The full trans rebuilt cost me $1500 with parts and labor taking it off and rebuilding and putting it back in -

One stop auto transmission (818) 568-3651 Luis and Alonso - they had an fj60 and fj62 before so they know what they’re doing

"BETTER CALL SAUL !!"

(c'mon, someone had to do it) :hillbilly:

I know you are down the rabbit hole already but was there a reason you didn't want to go manual? I heard it really wakes these trucks up. Been enjoying your thread hope you are on the road soon.

It really wakes these trucks up.

Agreed but he did just rebuild the entirety of the truck so not out of his wheelhouse. I was just more curious than anything, I got no horse in the race..lol
Great question, definitely can afford to do it - I think if it was. Fj60 I’d go 5 speed + beefier motor personally … but the beauty of the 62 is that it’s automatic, I already have a fj40 that’s stick so having two sticks is too much for me. Since I’m a real estate broker I text and drive a lot (I know I shouldn’t) but I get 400+ texts per day + 100-200 calls a day so I’ll be taking this truck out to those showings with me and it helps bring auto

I don’t really care about speed in these trucks or waking up personally because they’re slow already (had 911s and g63s etc) so since it’s a tank, my thought is might as well as just enjoy a slow tank

My dad always said drive slow so they take a good look 😂

Idk that’s just my thought process

That’s my personal situation I don’t wanna sound full of it or whatever just being honest

its not 'that' simple to go manual, for sure not as cheap if paying someone to do it
Very true - manual swap is around $10k in parts from cruiser Matt’s from what I remember with driveshafts and everything (don’t quote me as prices change that was with a lot of extras I picked out with him they’re a really cool shop)

Auto rebuild with extra oil cooler + beefier torque converter is $1500 total here in Los Angeles

That’s for people on a budget which I totally get I don’t really have a budget I’m just fujin around for fun on my time off - learned a lot on welding, and all these other fun skills building it
