FJ 40 restored for sale
My father in law wants to sell his lovingly restored fj40. How do I go about pricing it? It is a 1976 that he just completed a frame up rebuild. No rust, paint restored to original color, 350 Chevy, Edelbrock carburetor, Headman headers, new mufflers with that shield, power steering, 4 wheel disk brakes, new brake pads, new wiring harness, tub has Berliner coating, new rear jump seats with custom supports, new head liner, new heater core, winch, high lift jack, rubber in great shape, and a full roll cage tucked inside. Main gas tank under passenger seat, auxiliary tank with skid plate in rear. Absolutely fantastic rig. So any ideas on price and where to sell are greatly appreciated. He probably has about 40 into it, more if you count...
'74 FJ40, SOA, 37s, SBC 327, Houston
I know this is cliche, but it pains me to write this post. I've owned this FJ40 for almost 2 years. I purchased this cruiser as a dream I had, including driving and fixing it up with my 12 year old son. We've had a lot of fun working on it and driving it around town. We get a lot of looks and it certainly is a converstation piece at the gas station. Let me start with with the condition when I purchased it from the previous owner. 327 Small Block Chevy 4 bolt main, bored 30 over, 1968 truck, rebuilt 2010/11 Mild performance cam Aluminum Edlebrock intake 650 CFM Edlebrock Carb 4 spd original transmission Shorty Headers Flow Master 40 mufflers, true dual low profile back dump Spring Over Axle conversion 1978 FJ40 front hubs with disc...

1968 fj40
I’m going to try this 1 last time. 1968 fj40 California rig with no rust, or Bondo. I’ve had it for 3 years and its been sitting on my trailer. I’ve tuned it up changed all oils and moved the rear springs back an inch. It has a dull paint job but I like the color. It has a spring over with new shocks. 35 tires in so so condition, cracks. Front end has disk brakes, brakes need to be adjusted. It has new wheel cylinders and an 1 1/2 spacers. Not the original brake booster. It has no hard top, but has nice soft doors. Seats are after market and nice, seats have camo covers with multiple pockets. I hate the color. Inside is rhino lined and it was done nicely. Has rear front facing seat with storage compartment and seat belts. Side storage...

Sellng my 83 FJ40. USA model. Originally purchased in FL. Receipts and multiple year tag registrations, maintenance records, service manuals reflect a true 79K mileage when I purchased as a barn find in 2015. My original intent was to drive it as a barn find, but cancer/rust had damaged the rear sill and fender wells as is common to these. I decided to have metal replace metal, no bondo. Truck was disassembled, repaired, painted, reassembled, and driven to the North Carolina Relic Rally last year. 600 mile round trip, w a leaking P/S box and resulting squeaky belt as the only issue. Drives 75 MPH all day. P/S box was rebuilt in Texas upon return. No A/C, so I had vent windows added from a set of Australian donor doors. I have the...
Not Affiliated Public Service Announcement 1971 FJ40 Fairfax, Va
If you see this on craigslist, ebay, etc. avoid it at all costs. You'd think for $9500 it would have some positives... but nope! Lots of bondo, no top on it and sitting outside. The engine is a 80s model 305/350 (not sure which). they put a Chevrolet steering column with a 3 speed on the column transmission. She's rough! Drive shafts are botched welding, rear drive shaft look to be about 5" long lol. Lots of stuff is just cut. It does not run or drive. The lot said it was too dangerous to drive over 30 mph and was being sold as a project. Ad says " The owner bought this rare land cruiser from Oregon with the intentions of restoring it. This has been rust free. It does have an aftermarket v8 engine and transmission. This is a great...
Hey guys I've been looking at some FJ/BJ's for about 3 months now and seen prices skewed all over the place. I understand I'm a little late to the game and the value of these trucks have gone up in recent years. Im only 15 turning 16 in a couple on months so I'm in no serious rush to run out and buy one. Im working and have been saving bday/holiday money. Ive saved up quite a bit and am wondering how much i should be expecting to pay for one. I don't no as much as some of the other members know but i don't think I'm completely clueless. Im looking at a post 1976 truck one with the ambulance style doors, original/oem engine, transmission, no serious rust, seats (jump seats not front facing bench in back), etc. Based of yalls knowledge of...
