Is Overland Metric still in business?

I am a fan of making a bit more of an effort then just going to scAmazon. There are times when it makes sense but personally, I'd rather not spend that kind of money for a questionable bolt set and give Bezos more money.

Support small business whenever possible, please.
It is more important than folks realize.

Hi all, did not see this thread, thanks for the tag. @Archengine sorry for missing the emails, they get lost easily. Still shipping what it is in stock on the website. Still waiting for the manufacturing for out of stock items, so may be a bit longer than we hoped for restock. All stainless is in stock however.

Ok guys, a bit of an update…not totally conclusive but a step in the right direction.

On 7/13 I sent a PM via MUD to Dave @ OverlandMetric. I explained I had an order in mind that he shows in stock. I asked him if I ordered on 7/13 when would it actually ship? I received a response from Dave this am which said he would ship the next day.

Again, not totally conclusive but at least it shows he’s on the right track. I love their products & have ordered several times in the past. Actually getting in touch with him has always been a major pain…along with very slow ship times. Maybe, just maybe we can see an improvement.

I will place an order & get back here with the results one way or another.

EDIT 7/14/26: just placed an order. Much smaller than the ‘full kit’ I inquired about, but all that I ordered was in stock. Received a response back thanking me and that most orders ship within 1-2 business days. We shall see.🤞

I realize it is a premium price, but I found the full kit to have been invaluable.

I am getting to the point where I need to re-up some stuff, but the reality is, I would've spent far more for inferior and haphazard products had I piecemealed all the hardware together over the years.

@RevISK totally agree that full kits are the way to go, he has 4 ‘full kits’ available on his www…unfortunately the 1st 3 are ‘sold out’ & the one that’s left…would work of course but it’s not exactly the one I want. If I’m going to spend $300+ for nuts/bolts, I will do my best to get the one I want. I’ll keep checking his www.

This is what has been bothering recently, thanks for putting it into words here. Sadly more and more often it's not an option to buy local.

And I love the Overland Metric kits I bought several years ago, almost always got quick deliveries.

Let’s hope Dave @ OverlandMetric gets it together. I think his products are 1st class…metric, JIS, AND for me at least, the main benefit is the nuts & bolt heads are consistent with what we have on our Cruisers. Ie, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm etc. you don’t have to mess around with 13-15mm etc.

I’m glad he’s around, like his products, just have never been happy with the way he runs his business…slow ship times, often out of products etc. Love to support his business as long as he supports us.🧰

my limited experience (bought a kit, received a kit, have used the kit more than I ever thought I would use a hardware kit), has been extremely positive.

I’ve repeatedly enjoyed all of the positives mentioned (sizing, JIS, etc), but none of the negatives.

OOS / delays are part of life in 2026.

Just to post an update, Dave at OM reached out via PM and let me know his ETA for them to be back in stock. While it is farther out than I may be able to wait, I totally get it. Good stuff takes time. Thanks guys,

Rob

Ok all, UPDATE: As stated, I placed an order on 7/14/26 & just now today, I received a message from OverlandMetric that on 7/15/26 my order has shipped…with a tracking #.👍

Really excellent news! FYI

My OverLandMetric order arrived today 7/20/26.

Very good news. I have no immediate need (small order of nuts, washers& bolts) but for my experience at least, I placed the order & communication was good & a very timely & good packing/ship.

Thank you @davework , very good to see & will encourage additional orders.

Belmetric? Odd question for those that have ordered from them, from their website I can’t tell for certain:

I understand that the threads are metric ie. 1.25/1.50 etc, and the nuts & bolt heads are also metric…BUT…
are the nuts & bolt heads the actual same size as what we have on our Cruisers? ie, 10mm, 12mm 14mm etc & not some weird sizes like 13mm, 15mm, etc.

I’d like to try out BelMetric if they come with normal Cruiser sizes.
I just looked at their website too. I do not believe they are JIS. Looking specifically at the m8x1.25 hex Phillips SEMS, it is a 13 mm.

Dig deeper
I have all kinds of jis sized fasteners from them.
I can only show you the way, i can't walk it for you.
