Hi everyone,
I've been putting this off for a while. I tried removing the spark plugs before, but they were stuck solid.
About 24 hours ago, I soaked three of the plugs with automatic transmission fluid. After some effort, I managed to get one of them out yesterday, but the other two still won't budge—they're just as stuck today as they were yesterday. I haven't even touched the two plugs all the way at the back yet.
I've attached a picture of the plug I removed below. I have no idea when they were last replaced. The truck isn't being driven right now, so I can leave them soaking longer if that might help.
My biggest concern is breaking a spark plug off in the cylinder head. If that happens, does it mean the engine would need to be rebuilt, or can the broken piece usually be removed without major engine work? Is it worth continuing to try to get the rest of them out or keep driving (Truck drives fine) ?
The truck has 580,000 km (about 360,000 miles) on it. It's a 1FZ-FE with a manual transmission.
Thanks,
