Part to stop door from opening to far?

My 1976 FJ55 driver door opens too far and i have put a dent in the panel. Any idea on the part? I think it might be a "door stop check" but I don't know what it looks like or how to install.
 
check the door jamb, 55's have a tendency to crack at the hinge mounting location with the limiter
 
I’m with @3_puppies on door fatigue as the root culprit. A stopgap measure is to screw a piece of an old leather belt to the door and jamb of appropriate length to limit the door.

When Tony first brought the Karma Cruiser to me back in 1992 it had just a leather strap. I chuckled about it, but it stayed there for a few years until I had checked enough other things off the to-do list to fab up a replacement slot on the door
