bezel alert

I have no idea what this means. I just happened to see it while walking down the street and thought I'd snap a photo.

it means that the bezel around the headlights is upside down - the thicker side belongs up - the problem is specific to the round-bezel 40s and inexperienced owners who don't know which side is up ;)

LOL. Thats pretty funny.

other landcruiser owners will recognize you as an insider if you know which side the bezel belongs

the truck has a few other modifications from stock, such as the shackle reversal on the front and what looks to be power steering

the rear fender flares also look odd the way they are installed - and if the wheel wells were not cut (which they look they aren't), then why would they even install the fender flares ?

Another Tucson 40

The only thing I noticed was that it had never seen anything but pavement.

Guessing at point point in it's life was used as intended. Early in its life owner would have parked it out of sight when going out Saturday night in old town Scottsdale verses parking it out front showing off saying "look what I have". Back in my youth driving a 69 Opel GT got noticed more than if I was driving a 69 FJ40 like this one. By 1974 the Opel was gone and was driving an FJ40. Took a while but finally driving something cool again.

Saw this Az. 200 in San Diego last tuesday at the U.S.S. Midway museum. Blocking out the plate because it isn't mine.

Being simple minded figured it would be best to just source a bezel off one the first few years of the FJ40 to be sure it was one the correct way. Even if you can't read all the have to do is match Land Cruiser on the aprons to get it right.

So which one of you has a kid that works at a Chipotle? It was a white 93 for a while, the other day it was a green one but I didn’t get close enough to guess the year.
