I like...thanks

quick fist kick ass. i've had 16 for about three years now. all work great and no signs of wear yet.

my free and simple solution was a piece of tube that the handle slides in then a large cotter pin to secure.

My shovel is bungy corded to the backside of my tire carrier. Pic w/o the tire on

another vote for quick fist. Idea stolen from Bruce Lowen.

Perfect...all you need is a Slee rear bumper, 4-Quik-Fists and a Master integrated cable lock.

LC Shovel 2.webp
LC Shovel 3.webp

I prefer to bungie cord shovels and axes to the sides/top/botom of racks (gas can or tire or roof or whatever). Gives you more flexibility in you loading and arranging than a dedicated mount. Takes less room too.

Wow, I like the quickfists, I would not really rely on bungee straps to hold things down during a collision, but, ultimately the brackets that go to African Outback's Racks are awesome and hold the shovel in a very reachable, very secure way. HTH.

How heavy is your shovel? A couple of good heavy duty bungies are far and beyond strong enough to secure any shovel I can swing against any G force I will ever see in a collision.

I made this mount about 10 years ago and it's always worked great:

That looks just like the Confer mount.

so basically some low life could just walk up to your truck and walk off with a new shovel? Im locking mine, a good chap source is to go to hardware store (lows, depo) and go to the plumbing department they sell a round hinge that you clamp over pipe with rubber to stop leaks. They come in diff sizes and you you drill a hole and lock it. $3.00
