Quick question: for the YMD3 remote, do I need to peel off and reuse the square black piece of foam that is glued to the factory remote on the back side of the circuit board? It's glued to the factory shell with the Toyota logo, not the part of the shell with the buttons on it. Thanks.

No. The design intent of the ymd3 does not include that foam spacer.

Hope the key ring hole is big enough for a full size keychain. The stock hole jams a full size key ring in there and binds it up.
