Black/Beige 2 tone 2008 LC 200 @ 368,000 miles. New trans and 4 coils, 8 spark plugs, WP, T stat and serpentine belt at 350,000 miles. All but belt were original. Just replaced the original fuel pump assy and remaining 4 coils at 366,000 miles. Has a few oil leaks but drives amazingly, still polishes up great, and no interest in selling. Just drove it 2000 miles and delivered to our cadet daughter who is using it for her last two years at USAFA in Colorado Springs.

We just added a Black/black 18 GX 460 Sport with 103,000 miles to the stable, that's truly like new.....so we are a very happy Toyota/Lexus family....and that will never change.

Our goal is at least 500,000 for the LC 200, and no plan to sell the GX either. Why would we? A slightly newer V-8 LC or LX maybe, but our 08 is a part of our family, and has served us well...... The GX is amazing, and the new non V-8 replacements arent of any interest at all, so its staying with us for a very long time.

55,000 on my 2020 LC200 HE. I religiously follow the Toyota factory maintenance schedule and it drives like the day I drove it off the dealers lot in 2020.

I've got approximately 81k on my '21. No issues so far aside from the LRA - related EVAP/charcoal canister shenanigans I had to deal with about 6 months ago chasing and remedying associated CEL codes.
No issues for what is effectively 10k miles on 5w30. I did notice that oil pressure gauge reads tick higher on startup and for first few minutes of driving after that all seems normal. Note their is a whole rabbit hole of a thread on this topic.
Go forth, my son....and propagate the church of 5W30

nice wrap! It was bath day at the zoo for me, so she just got the bugs knocked off today...no pics unfortunately though.

I'm hoping to get at LEAST 400k from my 200 before it needs rebuilding, etc. We will see.

2016 LC - 120k Miles (Everything listed was done proactively, recently)
  • Replaced the Radiator with the latest design
  • Replaced Starter (Total pain in the ass, but I didn't want to be stranded in the dirt)
  • Replaced Water Pump and Fan Bracket
  • Replaced Spark Plugs
  • Replaced PCV
It has been dead reliable. 5W30 every 5k starting around 80k miles and typical fluid changes on time/early for everything else.
Any noticeable difference using 5w-30?

400k is not an issue if it has been serviced correctly. Ours was not prior to our buying it, so trans definitely was needed at 350k, otherwise it would have been good for 400k as well.

Ours has been in Florida since new, and spent a bunch of time parked in the elements, so there are issues related to extreme heat exposure. Paint is not at all affected, but plastic pieces become brittle after time if exposed, so that is our biggest issue.

Never thought of that, but in hot climates, they really should be kept garaged or out if the sun.

These are easily 500k vehicles plus…. Some 5.7 vehicles have gone over 1 million miles, and we saw many in Australia with well over 1 million KM!

Maintenance maintenance…..and will will last a very very long time!

As for rebuilding, after looking into it, I’m not sure rebuilding 5.7s is practical… Parts are ludicrously expensive. I’ve rebuilt many engines in my life, and planned on doing it to ours at 350k, as I enjoy the process, but when I looked into it, the process would be too expensive and didn’t look like it would be that enjoyable.

I’m now convinced I need to maintain it as much as possible, and if it ever gets to a point where it needs rebuilding , and I still own it ( years and years from now ) and want to keep/restore it, will find a replacement 5.7….

Totally agree on garaging it. The heat is one thing (my garage is 90+ this week given the brutal heat), but the direct sun exposure over many years will wreak havoc.

2020 HE w/ 57k
- Battery replaced once
- Driver and passenger door lock actuators replaced
- Tranny fluid changed @ 50k

We now really look at evidence of sun exposure if we are looking at vehicles. Pass if there is any evidence. Our recently purchased 103,000 mile 18 GX 460 was a garage queen here in Florida, so in many ways, it is like new.

We are now looking for a equally kept used 13 or newer SL 550 or 63, which is challenging to find unless you are willing to pay a premium for it...These LCs , LXs and GXs should hold their value well if well kept, as they don't make vehicles like these any more.

I think we will see an increase in people buying them to keep very long term, if build quality and longevity is a priority. It is to us, but it took a long time for me to figure it out, and loads of money on vehicles I thought I had to have......

Oh well..

It's quieter, smoother, and has slightly better oil pressure, especially in warmer temperatures.

72511 miles today.

Zero issues. Daily driving, regular use, and long trips keep the seals lubricated in every part of the rig - will help her last far better than “garage queening.”

Air conditioned garage since new — as it makes a massive difference over time, for every system in a vehicle you care about.

0w/20 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum & OEM oil filter every 5k miles from new in 6/2019.

Exclusively serviced by Penske Wolfchase Toyota every 5k miles with all recommended services since brand new (plus all of the optional/recommended/add on services that the dealership recommends).

Transmission fluid at 60k, radiator flush/fill at 60k, battery at 40k (my fault), transfer case and diffs 40k, brake fluid 40k, power steering 40k. (Will repeat all at 100k).

OEM Windshield at 65k.

Daily driver and all purpose mule for our family/friends.

Will never sell, but will pass on in our family. Love it!

NOTE: Photos from our happy place in Montana.

Recipe for 500k right here.

65,500 on my 2021 Heritage with no issues. Hope I don't jinx myself... Amsoil Signature 0W-20 and oil filter every 5000 miles, Amsoil in diffs every 30,000, Toyota Unicorn blood in T-case every 30,000, transmission and coolant service at 60,000. Coolant will now go to 50,000 mile intervals. Chassis and drive-train lube at every oil change. First week of May, a drive to Pensacola, FL for my son's MOS graduation and first week of June, a trip up through Yosemite and Sequoia, via the 395 and Tioga pass. Now getting her prepped for a Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah and Colorado run for two weeks beginning on the 16th. Since May, I've put on over 10,000 miles and now the next trip which will add another 5,000 at least.

The more you drive her, the longer she’ll last with 0w-20 or 0w-30 and consistent maintenance.

I believe that water pump failures, gasket leaks, drivetrain leaks, etc., in Land Cruisers occur more often in ones that are not driven daily/weekly.

Why? Every collector vehicle I own/have ever owned goes through water pumps and seals on various components due to infrequent use.

My drivers are ultra reliable with routine maintenance (and an AC garage to sleep in).

97k miles on 2016 LC, mine since 13k. Water pump just replaced. Steering wheel replaced for cosmetic reasons. Otherwise just maintenance: diff & transfer case fluid every 30k, transmission flush at 75k, radiator fluid at 90k, oil every 5k (5w30 starting at 85k). Brakes, battery, wipers. Have chips in my second windshield. @55k miles on Michelin Defenders. Plan to keep it forever.

295k on our 2008. Have replaced maintenance stuff, fluids, spark plugs, serpentine belt and idlers, PCV, and one ignition coil. Slight oil weep dampness from rear main seal and a valve cover or cam tower leak. Doesn't drip to the driveway or go low by even a quart over 5000 miles. Have been using 5w30 for the past 80k miles or so. Radiator and water pump replaced by PO at 180k after a deer strike. It's about to get a new AC Compressor due to some AC issues.

Overall it's been very reliable but is starting to show its age some. I'm considering trading down in mileage just to start the clock over on a few things, but I'd drive it across the country tomorrow with no concerns.
