@4runner2FJ60, awake too early still riding on yesterday’s high.
Some of my list won’t be realistic because I’ve done things most people don’t, marked **
Others many have but I found most awkward.
** In situ: removed cam shaft from engine. That was up there. Jacking up the engine was crazy stressful.
Oops! I realized... pulling the TSM/Tcase is a big one and then rebuilding the tcase... definitely up there too!
Distributor install will definitely be a task that is up at the top too. Just getting it right takes a relaxed hand. This most recent stab took 3. But prior to that ive prob been in the 10ish range.
Installing a fresh head. I had a helper that time too. At 85lbs hefting that over the radiator would have been hell.
Valve adjustment is easy per say but awkward as anything when your 5’5” tall. If you have a long torso it’s prob pretty easy.
** Double tranny install. With better equipment and flooring maybe I couod have done it alone but we literally worked as a pair. Four hands absolutely felt essential.
Literally everything else had just been legos. Follow the directions and it’s all quite straightforward.
** I will say, welding the frame was tough work too. Once I saw the trick to how to actually laying down the bead, it all because much easier. Body work will be more tedious and I definitely have that in my future.
