Looks awesome Fel, love that you just get after whatever needs to be done.

FYI, Yota, the grey fabric sticking out from the rusted muffler heat shield is raw asbestos.

That red valance panel must be your trademark. I was going to say to take it off and paint it but hey it’s your 60 and adds character.
Also great job saving your 60, Props!

I’m aware.... is that why I have a sore throat? ;)

I had it painted red on purpose. I have plans to tie it in w/ pin stripes and a big ol TOYOTA along the sides.

Damn girl, those lower beads look decent! I’m sure the other ones do too but that’s the one I could zoom in on.

Thanks but honestly they’re really butt ass ugly. A few along the arch toward the wheel well are ‘okay’ but most I didn’t have the voltage high enough till then. Took a break and a YouTube video to realize that... watching a few more today and modifying my girl carharts (duluth) work pants so my bony tailbone won’t be bruised by the seams anymore.
I added better casters in my creeper but it puts me just a tad to high to hold the gun... I folded a yoga mat (I hate yoga, friend gave it to me for garage work) to lay on but a few times the sparks caused some good smoldering around me! Haha! Half the battle in my welding is setting up the stage so I’m safe and comfortable.

I thought about doubling up some metal tape and attaching to the shield to cover and enfold the asbestos fabric... probably should have. Paint is easy too.
Coincidentally I developed a super nasty sore throat and swollen glands and actually had a strep swab yesterday to be on the safe side since kid comes back to me Tues AM. It was negative so it’s either dust, allergies or a cold.
Decided to sacrifice a leather jacket I got free a few years back that I never wore for upper body welding protection. Think I’ll pull the zipper out, stitch up the front all the way up the collar and add snaps at the back of the neck for removal.
Not doing much now that kid is back and weather is very gray and wet right now plus I feel like crud.

...Flip the bird for good measure!

Way to get after it, Fel!

Careful there... you may find yourself welding a skyscraper some day soon.

Oh shhhppht! I’m just trying to cover myself more than the apron. I don’t own hoodies so I’m using what I have. That jacket was always too tight anyhow.

Finally starting to feel better after a sinus infection took hold this past Monday. Stupid young APRN didn’t believe me because I’d not had a fever and I’d only been sick for 7 days but after only two doses of the antibiotic I felt almost 99% normal again. Meds do have they’re place, most times I avoid them but this time I really needed the intervention.
But thanks to lovely NE weather it’s been nearly raining daily here for what seems like a week!
Today tho after a little egg hunt meet w/ my son and his dad and his girlfriend I zipped back home and made some sparks!
Got the tip from Floridian @cruisermatt to buy these v band exhaust flanges. Cleaned up the straight pipe and started welding. On the work bench, the Hobart 140 mig definitely makes it easy. (Under the truck pointing vertically is another story!) This is the way to enjoy a holiday Felicity style!
