Doubt I could afford what you have to offer Jason. Thank you very much tho. Also don’t want it too much bigger than that stand either. It’s not a huge rush... I’m sure I can find something that will suffice locally.

I love picking up the old bed frames, you end up with a bunch of angle iron for usually free! Maybe it's just me, but it usually seems like a pretty hard alloy too.

Been looking on the Facebook marketplace fur scrap metal. Bed frame is a good idea. I’ll check for them.

I’m being told to put it on its side... then it will be higher tho smaller. I figure I’ll add casters which will bring it up a good 4”...
This photo is it on its side. Didn’t get one with it right side up yet. Later I can.

Welp I might as well step up for worlds biggest loser.
The guy sold these as 31’s and I clearly didn’t look closely.
Bet he had a good chuckle.

Don't beat yourself up too much some of us have been suckered in a much larger fashion. I bought a rig that was "CARB certified" Sure enough there was a sticker on the firewall. I didn't inspect it closely and guess what it's an old sticker with a previous engine set up!!! Current build not CARB certifed at all! Got me good on that one. Live and learn and move forward is all you can do.

The bad karma is all on the seller of those tires. He probably still lives in his ratty little world trying to come up with another ratty way to make money off of someone dishonestly. What a way to live.

You still have a sweet rig, whats that old saying? A life lived well is the best revenge or something like that

City Racer Carb install. Few bumps but got it sorted out today and videos in the link. AMAZED at how she sounds.
City Racer Carb

And I love that I chopped the arch off the bumper. I still need to level out the passenger side which is a smidge taller, clean the paint then add the caps but seriously she looks so much better!
Added the grill and she finally looks a thousand times better to my eye.
When I took a drive across the street to try out the carb I had my son get in back which was all opened up from a few days before. I told him to stay down so some nosy person wouldn’t get all uppity over him not being in a car seat. This was a first for him so he hid under a blanket. :)
And his new thing is a thumbs up AND down. He’s such a goof.

At idle, 650, vac gauge.

At idle to 4k in church parking lot across my from house.

Was having the typical dual fuel and water temp peg. Decided to go deep and bought a new sender. Installed after work. Fairly straight forward task other than rust and having to chisel the screws out.
So far it appears the pegging gauges are history.
Dual Peg...

Quick early evening walk w/ dogs in Colchester, CT at the Spur Trail in same town I work in. Planned to stop at Salmon River for spring water but the carnival was in town so to avoid the chaos I had to find a different place to walk.
Finally spotted a Trillium (been years) but it was all dried up. And came across a monster downed tree.

I'm so jealous of the amount of vacuum you have going right now. Are you worried about the flutter?

Dude that’s nothing to what I used to have. Scant worry compared to before.

Got a pretty sweet hand me down from an ex boyfriend this weekend....

Then Sunday did a 4/5 mile loop called Punch Bowl Trail in RI w/ members from the local group Yankee Toys.
I was not prepared for so much rock! Did the first part in 2H and not aired down. After a number of yards of very bumpy rock I got out and locked the hubs and put it in 4lo. But this was RI so it was only a matter of 10 mins and then we were on pavement again and o had to pop it out doing the reverse trick. There was one other 60, @EasternYeti, James who was doing the same thing. The 80’s and LX series kept driving up next to me, “you okay?” :)
Seemed like I was running out of gas (new sender might not be giving me accurate readings OR the gauge really is bunk) so James saved me and hooked me up w/ a few gallons.
Our guide Mike, @foxfab tookus thru a small water crossing of which I was freaking out over. Me and my 30” tires were small compared to everyone else’s 33’s and up. Watched Brian, @Budvar go thru easily, his back end in the first pix. I made it tho I went too fast and once I was nose up on the other side she stalled. Got her going and goosed out quickly.
Looking forward to seeing the video again. I was growling in anticipation thru it all! Last was a tree across the road. I nailed it w/ my fully aired up tires and it was like a brick wall! Took the third time of reversing and putting on the gas to get over it.

After we all convened at Mikes for more food than we could all eat. Great day, gorgeous weather, my dogs survived all the hard slams of my tail end and nothing broke.

And now I’m putting together a leather apron for welding w/ scraps I’ve had from other projects.

Proof I had zero clue what I was doing in a water crossing... they might have covered that in my wheeling class years ago but anxiety got the best of me.
Made it... next time will be better. :)

Apron done.
And the 1/4” x 38” x 20” metal plate ready for me for free from a friend who’s a welder. Should be picking up this weekend. Woohoo.

This is the schematic God used to create the universe. Pretty sure about that.
Hahahaha! Seriously it’s total bull****!

So my girl got modified today.... ditched the front tube bumper altogether after wirewheeling it a bunch and found welded patches and large rust holes under the lower tube.
She’s back to Badass.

Nice! What month was your truck born? I may have her twin...
I'm about to get into the HB and timing cover. Your photos are helping me plan things out. I'm hoping I don't have any serious issues like you had to deal with and it's just worn rivets causing the wobble. $400 for a new HB from Oreilly's is gonna hurt... but not as bad as new crank bearings and what have you. Did you need anything other than the cork gasket and crank seal for the timing cover?

You going to weld up a new bumper? It would be a awesome first project.

And glad you got rid of the smitty. Nothing good ever came from them.

3F pulley fits I believe....
Also read Dave’s thread, @roadstr6, The Rushing Turdle for his rivet repair.
