Woody on its first taco run. This one's for @Spike Strip, Woodman Ave and Woodman Pl near the Copart. Pollo looks legit. Picking up some jute under padding from Vic's.

Pollos Al Carbon ! Sketchy, but I've been there!

I bought a 1st Gen Isuzu Trooper from that Copart, many years ago -- They burned me with a bad head-gasket!

Truck looks great. I see an H55 in your future! ;)

What's Vic's ?

Vic's Auto Upholstery. Great spot to get raw materials for interiors. Been a minute since I've been over here, last time was for the BMW project.

The H55 has crossed my mind more than a few times... need to shake this down a bit more and think on which one to keep, the 60 or 62.

You HAVE to wheel the 60 with the H42 before you seriously consider a 5 speed. Anything less and you’re just part of the hive mentality.

Btw, I’ve got a pair of Pioneer 6x9s for you in the driveway.😉

^ True

@MANUCHAO was gracious enough to donate a pair of FJ60 seats that I need to get reupholstered - Any places in the Valley to recommend ?

Not really unfortunately. I had the BMW seats done by a guy who specializes in them down in SD. I'm probably taking the 60 down to these guys for the headliner, they are primarily an upholstery shop though. Literally around the corner from the LKQ in Sun Valley - Elite Custom

Love it and thank you!! They are going to a good home. Yeah - the H55 has to be down the list because it's just $$$ as all get out and I need to pace myself. Plus I don't really mind the slow yet, I do mind the no AC in 95* valley heat (shopping for R12 lol) and what sounds like an exhaust leak, but I can't quite tell if it's that or just noisy. And the engine mounts. And the smell. And....

Well, I can’t help you with the R12, but for your headliner project I could donate some…

R13

Sorry, I gave the last of my R12 to a guy at work with an old Camry

I've got like half a can of R12 still hooked up to a gauge. If you're interested PM me, happy to sell ya the whole setup cheap.

Spent some time with the audio situation this afternoon. I'm trying to keep this as low-buck as possible for now, so found the old Pioneer head unit that came with the 40 and installed that. Has a nice retro look to it, but it's radio / cassette only, which is fine. Wiring was a bit weird with a 5-wire setup and shared grounds for the front, but made it happen. There isn't a ton of room behind the dash to get a hand up there. Also ran constant + direct from the battery rather than try to find one to tap in the dash, just wasn't feeling it today.

I ended up using the Cruiserhead @ChaserFJ60 bracket, easy install and nice product. Very glad I didn't have to pull the dash for this.

Next up is replacing the speakers. Everything is wired, just ran out of time for the day. Also my antenna is super janky - I need to replace it but what I have is fine for now.

Got some 303 protectant for the vinyls and a new sunshade for the interior, I will need to wash / polish / wax but it's looking good. Gave all the interior vinyls and dash a good soak. Just need to do that every month from now until forever, lol.

One question for the group - it is doing this odd hesitation / bucking when at constant (light) throttle around 1500-1800 rpm. Doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be a bother. A cursory search indicates either a bad emissions computer or maybe I need to ground the ICS to the body of the carb, but I'm unsure how to do that. Will do some more reading but if anyone has a shortcut that would be awesome.

EDIT - pulled the emissions computer and reflowed solder on all the connector joints, and then ran it up and down our main drag here and it didn't happen again, even going uphill at 1500 rpm or at very light throttle in 4th at 35 mph. So - maybe fixed? Maybe not? Time will tell. Also re-centered the steering wheel, that's always a nice one to take care of.
