Just an FYI from my days at the Toyota store, see if a local shop will pressure test the evaporator core. If you hate doing dash work, you surely don't want to do that again if the system gets recharged and the evaporator has a leak. You can leave it in the evaporator case to do this.
I did a dryer last time.Well...I'd start with a new expansion valve...and consider a new receiver/dryer as well. No voodoo in replacing those items.
Dryer is easy moneyIf you open the system, you need a new dryer, even if new.
I would consider getting a DIY AC flush kit. Or have your AC guy flush the entire system before the next charge. I've used this on two R12 to R134A successful conversions. A few posts up I talked about the exhaust down pipe leak. Well, it came back so it’s here getting headers.
Also, I took the condenser off and took it to my radiator shop today to have it cleaned out for, hopefully a successful AC charge

Where did the downpipe leak from? The base of the exhaust or the connection to the catalytic converter? Was it because of a crack at one of the flange welds or uneven flange mating surfaces? Thanks for advising. Going to be getting my downpipe ready for a Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge and curious what else to check for while its getting its bung welded in. Thanks!
It was at the exhaust manifold.
It leaked round one.
We added a new donut and gooped it up with RTV and after about 200 miles it started leaking again.
