I did get the hoses run that eliminate the oil cooler and rear heater. One is a Gates. One a Toyota.

I like these little Toyota clamps for the 60s. The area to work is smaller and they are easier than the OEM wire clamps

Back on this one.

Went to Berry’s for an early burger then came home and busted the old exhaust apart to harvest the flanges and hangers.

Chad bought an OEM setup for the rear so all we have to do is cap the EGR pipe, add O2 bung and Cat then cut the old straight pipe to fit. Wizard is inbound.

Meanwhile since the front of the motor is done I went to the drivers side.

New clutch master. New brake master.

Pulled the carb fan out and found this fun.

Replaced the slave cylinder and all the soft lines next. Nasty job, should have done this before I put bench bled masters on full of fluid. This is a good PN for a longer rear line stock front works fine but the rear needs length

Added the TRE kit and painted.

Hung the “cat back” exhaust system. Here is the PN next to my misspelled name

Your muffler mount should sit on top of the rubber thingy, which sits on top of that shelf thingy. Otherwise the muffler hangs way too low.

Yeah I realized that when I tried to put the big V mount thing in.

Thanks.

Do you know if it's possible to buy or have built the heat shield above the muffler? I thought I saw you installed a new one a while back.

Used parts trucks. I had used ones powdercoated

I got the Cerakoted grill and bezels back from PowderKeg and added them

I added 90 wt to the diffs. Cleaned up some things under the hood.

The Wizard came and we have the exhaust figured out. We were just about to finish it when I decided to install the fuel tube gasket.

This is the one that keeps junk and smells out to the cabin. Well, I checked the fuel level. Wasn’t full so I figured I could pull the hose and install the gasket and reinstall the hose.

Well I did not realize the fill tube is in the bottom of the tank, not he top. Does not make sense to me but it is.

I spilled about 8 gallons of gas on me and the shop while I wrestled with it

Needless to say there was no more welding activity today. More pics tomorrow of the exhaust. We were damn near done before I screwed the pooch.

What cerakote color? Looks great!

What's the 'up to floor' thing in the exhaust?
The Wizard left it to me me to put in after he welded it up. He treats me like a 5Th grader.

Slugging through my punch list on this one.

I took a break and drove the Oddball to lunch while it was raining and loosened up all the mud that’s been under it since last month

Bled the brakes, clutch and made sure it cranked and the timing cover does not leak.

All good. One bad though. The down pipe to exhaust manifold is leaking. I put a brand new donut gasket in there. That’s a bummer.

Anyone ever put a normal 3 bolt gasket between those?

Not 'what does it mean' but what IS it, What's it's purpose in the system?

It’s a catalytic converter. Snipers tend to run rich and these cut out most of. It all of the smell.
