I’ve searched the forum thread for this but not finding what I need. OK having covered my ass there: the studs on this air cleaner (3/76 FJ40) are close to M6x1.0 but not exactly. It has a course thread. I was at Fastenal and they can‘t figure out what size they are either. Nothing he had in house. I’d like to have two of the wingnuts with washers that fit these but I can’t even find a nut that fits them. Can anyone tell me what size and tread pattern these are?

My '77 air cleaner wing nuts are M6x1.00. Due to a Sniper install, I just re-threaded an aftermarket offset air cleaner stud for my OEM wing nuts.

You should check with @ToyotaMatt if the wing nut is really a mongrel thread and not a regular 6mm x 1.0.

If it is mongrel, get the wing nuts from Matt. If not, you may have an issue with a P.O. trying something unique.

They should be 6mmx1.0. If not, something is wrong.

Dont forget to order the rubber grommets that go with those wingnuts. They really do help seal out moisture.

Air Cleaner WingNut w/ Rubber Attached, Fit my 1976: Toyota P/N 90175-06003

I don't have the link so I can't give credit to the appropriate MUD member.

They have the rubber attached, so I guess they are from a slightly different year, but they installed great on my '76.

I would check your local Toyota Dealership for parts, or add them in with a bigger $ order from ToyotaPartsDeal.com

I have bought some fastener type items from MUD members/vendors, only to find out I could purchase them less expensively directly from Toyota. Buyer beware on here.

Got these a couple months ago.
Edit: just saw date...got them just over a year ago.

Spector Off Road is quickly becoming [more?] of a pariah in this community. There are plenty of good [site supporting] vendors who can hook you up with the parts you need.
I agree - the shipping costs keep me from ordering from them more often than not.

If they would put those little parts in a small padded envelope and mail they for $3-4 it would be more palletable. Their only option for 2 wing nuts was a $15 UPS packet.

I think they are using shipping to pad their profit margins.

Yup, shipping and handling fees are a for profit item with many places.

...agreed. But, in most cases the places padding their number on shipping are usually the ones selling products at near cost. SOR has...eh... never been all that price competitive. ;)
