Not that it needs a test bed, but I'll be the first RHD with it (I'm the rig he's using for measurements). I've needed to clean my window runs and grease everything since I bought it but I'm lazy and haven't, so I won't and y'all can see how much it can improve a 92 with windows that have never been worked on. Even in summer I have to pull my front windows back up.....

Nice, where does it mount on a RHD?

OK, so mine arrived last week just two days after ordering, but I didn't have a chance to install it until this morning :meh:

First off, the packaging is very well put together

Everything looked to be consistent with all the photos I've seen online and it just feels like a quality piece :)

The install took me about 30 minutes because I had one a$$hole of a screw that needed some persuasion with a pair of vise-grips, but probably would've taken 10 minutes total if things went smoothly

I must say, I'm pretty damn impressed and kicking myself now for not doing this sooner :bang:

Haven't started my rig since last week (in the middle of some PM work), but even on the battery alone, the difference is night and day

Threw together this little video:

Is that Coldplay in the background? 😂 (*this post isn't going to age well,...) Great vid!

@PIP
I installed a Window Rocket in a LHD FZJ80 with a stickshift and it fit fine. The one I installed it in didn't have the assist springs on the pedal. Austin's pedal does have the assist springs and was shaped differently from the one I did.

The 91-92's don't have the brackets either because they don't have ABS. There's a good chance the kit we make for the 91-92's will fit 93+ LHD 80 series without ABS. Stickshift or automatic.

RHD is in process as well.
Any idea if it will fit a left hand drive HDJ80? Would you need a photo of the clutch petal?

Don't forget the sunroof. Mine opens 77% faster and closes in half the time (98% faster):

Improvement all around, but that's considerable, as I use my sunroof a lot to keep it working well.

I would assume if voltage / current exceeds motor specs they'll (the motors) fail early. That said the duty cycle here probably low enough to not matter. I not learned enough to opine and if my windows bothered me enough I'd try it. Mine go down at warp speed and back up a bit slower. 🤷‍♂️

Just Google DC motors excess voltage/current or something to that effect.
I have been running the prototype for 2 years and not 1 issue with it,and my 80 is my only vehicle so I drive it everyday, and some of my windows runner's are original and to honest I don't see a huge difference in speed

Not to completely derail this thread or anything, but could a similar use of a better relay and a DC to DC booster be used to increase the air flow output of the AC blower motor?

Just wondering, as it is hot here.

Quick update on where things are at-

There will be 3 Window Rocket versions covering most 80 series variations-

All 80 series with ABS brakes including LHD and RHD gas and diesel.

LHD 80 series without ABS

RHD 80 series without ABS

If you have a stickshift LHD 80 series and you have ABS brakes, you may not be able to use a Window Rocket. If you remove your ABS computer you can use the LHD no ABS kit and it will fit with your clutch pedal.
