You can also build up a store of the original Coleman SilkLite mantels if you're quick on ePay or like to scout your local garage sales. There were a TON produced and purchased for camping boxes which never got used. I picked up about 5-6 mantle...

Very nice looking specimen of a 220H! The 220 series ended with the "K" model (*functionally identical) in June of 1986, so yours is one of the last few model years of production. I'm a fan of the last of the 220's, as they have the original, old...

Well, linking to the image on Imgur didn't work here, so lets try that again.

If they've been sitting awhile, spiders seem to love to make webs in the air tubes which, no matter how hard you blow them out, you really need a pipe cleaner up in there to clear them. Mud daubers also seem to like to build nests in air tubes...

Spelling shouldn't impact quality. It is like California or Kalifornia, same thing 😂

I run a 37" 150 lb wheel and tire combo, two long days every week on average, with no major knuckle stud issues. I have broken a couple of studs over the years, usually when I hit something hard with the passenger wheel. I run stock studs. I...

I think that guy has done this once or twice before,... really liked that "monkey killing wrench" at the 1min mark. Everybody has one of those single-purpose wrenches in their garage. Mine is about 4' long to fit a 54mm nut torqued to 365lb/ft...

No need to Ez out the threads in the drive shaft. I posted about this years ago. Just tap a small torx bit into the broken zerk and remove. Simple as that.

bumping this up to the top again. It's hot and this is a decent way to still play in the dirt with trucks. I've been going on Sundays, but up for other times. (Wed and Sat are the official race days) @Cruiserhiggs @Spamcheese I know you wanna go!

You were very nice. I was reading the OG post and thinking to myself the OP is going to get flamed for not being informative. @EdselLopez when you post here in the tech area come to the table with as much information as possible to make it easy...

First off, welcome aboard. Secondly - which light? Third, which sensor did you replace? If there's a Head Gasket light on the dash, I'd know about it by now!

Keep in mind that emissions testing is done on a warm engine. Cold engines will have higher emissions, but you're going entirely off of a "smoke detector" type thing and the eye-watering quotient, not on any standard. I'll bet the emissions are...

Nope, driving a long grade at 5mph in 117F temps after letting the engine heat soak before I started, combined with me being an idiot and pushing the go-pedal the whole way, even after more than sufficient warning is what caused my short-block...

Another thought on loose plugs - you can tell by the ignition wire boots whether there's been any blow-by. The factory boots are red, and will be blackened if there's any compression leaking out past the loose spark plugs. It's pretty obvious...

Having watched a demonstration at an Overland Expo years ago, trust that when the hair stands up on the back of your neck, you're still not even close to tipping over sideways. There's an incredible difference between what feels unnatural to your...

As an aside; when the plastic top tanks on Toyota radiators turn that bakelite brown color, it's because it's materially deteriorated from heat and exposure. They get brittle and mine looked the same before it exploded, and 160k miles is a good...

Then it's most likely the seal where the top of your radiator meets the aluminum core. These are known to fail when they start to turn brown. Mine literally exploded on the highway. Get this checked and fixed sooner than later. Wash down the...

Pull the dipstick (cold) and does it look like the substance? Does the engine otherwise run normally? Pull the dipstick (hot) and see if the consistency has changed. What your pictures show looks to be "lung butter", i.e., coolant / oil mix, and...

What color is your coolant (Toyota Red or aftermarket green)? What does the slimy stuff smell and feel like? Greasy / oily / viscous?
