Those OEM steelies we got look the go with 35s. But either way, glad your running that tire size, the old 3fe mightn't like you so much but😆

I love those steelies too! Maybe eventually...

This truck will rarely go on the highway. Most miles will be on the country roads around here, back and forth to school, where I'm lucky if I go above 55. The longest trips will be the runs to Rausch Creek, a three hour drive.

Truth. But Wilson seems quite happy in the slow lane with her 80. She DGAF…

And getting worse in my old age. 👵🏻🍻

The steel wheels with 315/75 16 tires are damn heavy. You will be almost 115 pounds per assembly

Geolandar MT > Toyo MT

Just ask @wngrog

Too late; the Toyos just rolled in.

Here you see Onur demonstrating their height in his manpris.

I CAN NOT un-see that!

How did you remove the old tint? Looks really good, almost like new glass!
The 91-92s have clear glass from the factory. A later FZJ80 like yours has factory “tint” which can’t really be removed. It’s chemically applied to the glass. It’s not a aftermarket applied film that is applied with soapy water and a squeegee. That style can be heated up and peeled off.

I started removing the tint when it got really hot and it was clear that some of it was coming up on its own. It was really dark, which I know some people love, but I hate on older vehicles.

I managed to wrangle off one whole sheet with my finger nails and razor blades, but the rest wasn't budging.

I took it to a shop local to my school and left it with them for the day, and they removed the rest of it. I love how it looks with the tint gone.

They couldn't get to the piece behind the sliding glass in the rear windows, but you can't tell unless the windows are open. The windows' weatherstripping is in bad shape anyway and will be replaced when the windows are removed for painting, so the rest can be taken off then.

I didn't know that it was clear when I got started, so that was an exciting discovery for me. 🤓

Nice. Your 80 will almost be as nice as mine...almost.

Doubtful. A certain ten year old just left a bag of chips in there. However, if she's riding with you next week, maybe by the week's end I'll look better.

LOL. That adds to the charm. I took both of my kids home from the hospital in my old 80. They grew up with it. At one point I found previously undiscovered life forms growing in the carpet under the seats when I was cleaning it.

Scrubbed a bit of grime off the wheels between the thunderstorms.

I also managed to remove all the surface rust that was beneath the metal LAND CRUISER decals. Just took a couple hours.

Toyos on.
