Who makes a good microwave?

Got gift cards for Lowe's and Sears this year from the folks, and the and me need a new microwave. The Sharp we had exploded on her while I was deployed (nice scorch marks on the wall of our rental house, rock on), and from my experiences every Sharp I've used is an absolute piece of s***. Screens never fail to, well, fail and then there was the last one we had that went kerblooey.

Looking at possibly a Kenmore or a GE. Thoughts?

I had a good Panasonic that actually varied the magnetron output power instead of using duty cycling for lower power cooking. Worked a peach and I wish I still had it.

I'm a QE at (insert LARGE home improvement Store name here) and one of my categories is appliances. About 75-80% of ALL microwaves, regardless of the brand on the front, are made by Samsung...

We've had Panasonic and Whirlpool and both work really well. Actually still have both of them.

Like I said in my OP, every Sharp I've had has turned out to be a complete piece of s***. I refuse to believe that there are microwaves of similar to worse quality out there.

I wouldn't have bought any after the second one I had went tits up, but two others given to me by my folks and my sister because they got the expensive Wolf s*** (in my folks' case) ended up with the same problem less than two months after I'd been using them.

Have you tried NOT warming up your metal anal beads in them? Maybe that's the problem. You can't ask it to do what it cannot do.
