It doesn't look all that different... can someone explain what changed? I see the rear kick-out is different in where it attaches to the slider tube, but what else is different? Has anyone mounted the new ones? I think we need some comparison pictures! :)

*Like KlausVanWinkle, I am also hoping that there is greater angle on the new design so they hug the sides of the truck a little tighter.

the new design stops this from happening (the video), it's more of a gradual kickout. Making rocks and obstacles easier to slide over. If I had the newer design I would of gotten over. Honestly, not many people use the sliders hard enough for this change to really effect them. If I had the money I would purchase the new design in a heart beat. @ 1:05 you can see my truck hit the kickout, preventing me from moving forward.

2000ujz here's the retro you wanted to see! Some bad cell phone pics but they will do for now. And it is a straight line, I think my garage door deflects light weird.

1999 100 series, Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/75/16. Bi-xenon retrofit.

Very nice. I love Mini's :) . I work on about 100+ pairs a day.

Here are some photo's of mine, I am currently in the phase of another project. But more on that in late January.

Let me send an email to WK and get a quote. Then ill see how much I can let them go. Please note that mine have been heavily used. The driver side has multiple dent and gouges. Same goes for the passenger side. Nothing that effects the integrity, just looks.

Here is the change between the old and the new ones.

what is the change?

the outrigger tube is one piece, not 2. as such it's less like to get hung up on obstacles. the kickout is more gradual and smaller I think

I think it's the trade mark Metal Tech was bragging about and WKORs refusal to challenge "obiviousness". It appears the effect was a better product.

Not really sure how much more functional this new design is but from an astetics standpoint I think the original design looks better.

I agree, i think the originals look better.

It may also be to save time and money on making these. The new design requires less tube to make and less time. Adding that extra bend takes a lot less time than the additional welding and the severe angle cut.

When i had my 4xInnovations rock rails made for my 80 series i actually asked him to make them look more like the WKOR original design. He said he could do it, but that it would be an additional 75-100 bucks due to the extra material and the hard to make cut on the outer tube rail.

My WKOR sliders should be shipping out next week! Had him weld diamond plating to cover the entire top for a better step area.

I just asked him about doing this this weekend. Please post pics when you get them.

Isn't the out rail higher than the inner tube making it hard to use as a real step? My thinking is that it'd protect the sides from rocks, dirt, etc.

I think they both look good but I do like the old design better. but that is what I have so cant say that is unbiased. I cant even picture covering the step with something wedded in , looking forward to seeing some pictures. If Nick had a locker I think he would of pulled out of that. :hhmm:

but still lost his bumper....

I'll post pics as soon as I get them as I'm pretty eager to put them on. :D Not sure about the difference in hight. I told him that I was thinking about the diamond plate like on ARB sliders and I needed the protection but also better steps as my rig will be used as a company expedition rig and the last thing I need is a customer breaking their ankle between the rails. :o

I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with the outcome as he comes highly recommended and he talks like he knows what he's doing. :)

If I did these, I'd want an extra support... something like this---->
