If I could even get it flat like the slee sliders, that might even work out better for me. I don't do any hard core wheeling. Maybe not even moderately difficult trails. (But "hard" enough to worry about rocker damage).

If John at WKOF custom builds each of these. Maybe he can increase the angle of the outer tube to be more like a 45 degree angle. Whatever the max to be able to open the door would be.

Has anyone tried keeping these bare metal and lining them with a clear coat / epoxy? Might look cool.

Anyone asked why they are changing the design?

mine are awesome too. if it aint broke, dont fix it

Just wonder if it has something to do with the comments in the other sliders thread wherein the MT guy makes it a point to explain that they have a trademark on some design.

Look at robred thread p.5:

"I like the tubed step style from White Knuckle but the Metaltech cyber monday special is tempting too!

Decisions decisions. I just spoke to John at White Knuckle and he told me they redesigned their slider for the 100 series. I think I'll hold off on MT cyber monday special.

This is tough cause I hate having to drive a stock LC and waiting. Ready to start modding now!"

Thanks, I was looking all over for that. WK really doesn't need to redesign anything. It could be argued that WK's closed main slides are better than MT's as they keep mud and grime out of the open box sections. I seriously doubt you are going to dent/bend either option on a 100 series (not the LX). At some point strength becomes a moot argument. I think it basically boils down to aesthetics/ergonomics.

I may email him.I have the 3rd set from him and they are perfect for what I do.

Whoa. 3rd set? I'm assuming you mean 3rd Generation slider from WK? Didn't even know this redesign will make it a 4th Generation slider from WK.

Nope, I meant 3rd set. This change (if there is one) will be the 2nd gen.

Looks like the sliders got redesigned. I wonder why though. I think I like the older design better. Looks like it would be easier for someone to get their foot stuck in that rear loop if they slip.

I like the newer design in a wheeling aspect. I have been hung up on the Kickout more than once. I admit, it's a nuisance on some trails, but the advantages far outweigh the negative. They newer design won't stop you on the trail like the old design. I am thinking about modifying my Kickout to resemble the new design.

I will have one of the first "NEW" re-designed WKOR sliders. Should be here in about a week or so! So I'll take some pictures of them on the LC.

let's see that retro-fit you have

It doesn't look all that different... can someone explain what changed? I see the rear kick-out is different in where it attaches to the slider tube, but what else is different? Has anyone mounted the new ones? I think we need some comparison pictures! :)

*Like KlausVanWinkle, I am also hoping that there is greater angle on the new design so they hug the sides of the truck a little tighter.

I think the only noticeable difference is the one piece tube design ( makes the rail and kickout seamless) compared with the hoop (kickout) and the rail welded together of the old design.

2000ujz here's the retro you wanted to see! Some bad cell phone pics but they will do for now. And it is a straight line, I think my garage door deflects light weird.
