works for me

Got some time this weekend to spray Al's HNR on the floor. Heat and noise reducer. Two coats, then covered with raptor.

Really liking your build, then I noticed the TJ mirrors. Have you considered a pair of these instead? Saw some grafted onto an old Hilux and they looked really cool. You'd only need a custom arm to bolt on the tube door I guess.

Btw, I wanna do a white roof on my black Monstalined 80 series. It's too hot in the summer. How did your 75/25 mix turn out?

@AaronM33 the mix turned out just about perfect for what I was wanting. Stark white was just too white. If you do this, mix up all your colorant in a separate container so you do not have to mix it for each batch.

I like the FJC mirrors you mentioned; however, each trip we go out wheeling the mirrors take a pretty good blow and just flop out of the way, backwards or forwards. A local member put those on his 60 and it looks great!

Yeah I agree that white is too white. I'll probably buy both tints and mix like you did if I stick with Monstaliner up top.
I wouldn't wanna bust up a set of $150 mirrors every trip out either.
Thanks

Went off roading last weekend at KS Rocks with some families in our club. Great time. Before we went out, we fixed the exhaust leak at the y pipe, moved the front camera to just above the right wheel. This was awesome!! best mod ever. Only issue was that we mounted the camera upside down. My monitor has a button to flip the image, but when you put it in reverse, then that image was flipped. I will flip it when I permanently mount it in the front bumper. Anyway, we were able to see exactly where we were going.

Also cleaned up a few housekeeping items on the rig, stuck latches, etc.

We used the soft top that kept the sun from beating down on the passengers too. Worked great.

Best thing was that we got my 13 year old son behind the wheel on more challenging trails, and he did great.

The other great thing was being able to test out the HNR. I would say that it dropped the temp by 30 degrees. Not perfect, but much better. Next step is some more aluminum heat shields, and add A/C.

Thank you to Sammy for the inspiration.

need to post up some updates.

Mike helped me redo the entire AC system in FOO and when we took out the coil this is what we found. For those that have been around KC and TAC for a while, you might remember Duane, Techtafab, he welded up my A/C lines from an early 80 to my late model lines to be able to move the dryer to the battery area. Spent about 2 hours cleaning and picking out all the crud out of the coil and straightening the fins.

Started trimming some of the front like @jcardona1 (thanks for the motivation!) did to gain some clearance, since I mounted my front bumper higher. Also note this is after AC dryer was moved to the battery area. The transmission lines are in the way, so I rotated them up and out of the way.

Play by play was to cut flush with the top of the support then do a cheap man's bend about where my purple line is. I just make stiches with my plasma cutter and it bends easy. did the same with the inner fender, screwed it to hold then welded the sections together. I decided to leave most of the holes to allow water to get out.

I sure hope mine doesn't look that way.

Love the treadwrights!

So a good friend of mine has a thread about trying to keeping up with The Foo. All I can say is good luck.

That is the A/C evaporator coil. Right next to the blower next to your passenger legs. There was a thread about wanting a filter to capture crud before getting to this point. Looks like there was a little friend living in mine, so filter would not help. Does make me want to pull out the resistor and try to vacuum out this more often.

Portals nice. 404?
