Rear axle was going to be this one... jury is still out, I need to pull the pumpkin and check the gears. Sandblasted by Rob, and painted by my little girl! We shoot southern Poly black epoxy primer, wait 36 hours, then John Deere blitz black.

Topless is great, but stinks when it is wet, so got advice from @cjmoon on a soft top from a CJ. Bestop product. some rebending of curves and looks great. Also sealed up the sunroof with seam sealer.

Everybody needs a snorkel!

Then the front bumper.... Took off the winch with the HF bottom plate, cut some 3/4 plate for my sides that we designed with cardboard, and boxed it all in. Bolts on with 7 bolts on each side.

Pics of the final bumper with the stainless parts to match the rear. Ended up having to cut and turn the winch control arm. After I did that, I realized that I could have moved the center section back more, so that is on the short list.

I started a thread over in paint years ago about it, and should update it.

I just looked at an axle that I painted several years ago with it. Looks great still. Amazing how much abuse it puts up with.

I am hooked --- just have to remember to go to Tractor Supply to get the hardener.

I heard FOO is going to be in the next Jurassic Park movie. Or maybe it just looks like it should be ;) Nice work on this Kelly, looking forward to seeing it in person sometime. BTW do you have more info on the primer and paint your using ? Spraying the primer with HVLP ?

What hardener are you using? I've had great luck spraying it straight out of the can!

Out of the shaker can is fine for most. If you are ready to step it up, buy a quart or a gallon of it raw, the reducer too both really cheap from John Deere. I could not find the hardener there, but JD Blitz is a Valspar product, and the hardener is available at tractor supply. Looks like this. mix ratio.... 8:1:1

Here is southern. So the story I heard is the good epoxy primer made by BASF back in the day is the recipe they use. BASF started hugging trees and made their product touchy. I blame California for this!!

Anyway, I worked at a shop that used the BASF stuff years ago, and so far been really happy with the southern stuff.

I took it right out of the can into the HF HVLP gun and shot it on the AL's liner, no issues so far, like the hot rod guys say "it will stick to milk"

@SammyT08FJ I could not view your videos.... Not sure if it is just me.
