I have always liked the front clip of the 70. It is uniqe and really different. I have seen 70s in great shape going for as much as 20 grand.

But otherwise, what makes a 70 series more valuable then a bj60? Are right hand drive 70s and 60s still insurable in British Columbia?

Rarity of the 70 series in N.A. I would guess. That and many of the 70 series are imported which drives up the cost:meh:

As far as the RHD issues, there have been countless threads on the woes of RHD drivers in Canada.

Rarity = Higher Price :). Especially here in the U.S.
Seeing a 60 Series, while not common, is not unheard of either ( there are several in my home town )
Seeing a 70 Series is like seeing a UFO.

Definitely a supply and demand issue. I'll never own another 70 series because the inflated prices aren't compatable with my budget. Haven't heard anything about BC being a bad place for the JDM trucks. Several people have had problems in Ontario, however.

umm, diesel ...
combine the rarity of the 70 series with the diesel and you have a winning combo.
now, if anyone wanted a LHD gasser 70 in great shape then send me an email.

60s are family machines
70s are wheeling fun machines
4 door 70s are unique family machines

RHD insurance in BC is still simple enough to own one.

i almost considered moving to BC when i couldn't get insurance for my RHD fleet here in the State of Ontariostan...

Man! I like your words here.:D

Considering I don't have any mechanical or technical skills the least I can do is provide timely humor and sarcasm. :D

I think the other reason they are worth more is simply that most of the 70 wagons on the road are a lot newer than the 60 wagons. We're talking 70 series from the 1990's vs. 60 series from the 1980's. 3B is getting quite old now too. HZ and PZ are the next generation of diesel after the 2H and 3B.

There is no sneaking around in a 70 series....

It is especially funny when people walk up to look at the truck and ask if it is a new Toyota model. I assure them that it is not only new but is a limited production model from Toyota's luxury division. :D

they aren't - suckers just pay more for them in north america.

there are plenty of gasser 70 models as well as diesels, but none with equal kilometers and condition is as valuable as my HJ-61. of course I have a family with 3 kids so my perspective is skewed.

With one forum post, you have managed to insult every 70 Series owner in North America. Way to go.....:)

Do you have a source for gas 70s or just one? I probably cant afford a nice one. But I would buy a gas version if it was priced like an average 80.

Sent usin the "new" app.

Gas 70s are a popular option in South and Central America.

I think the main reason 70s are usually more expensive is as was pointed out earlier, they are newer.

They typically have newer, more powerful engines than the 60's.

Who you calling sucker, psycho? I will admit my kids are not eager to sit in the back seat of our 74......I looked a a bunch of 60's but they just didn't cost as much as the 74 so I went with the 74......:flipoff2:

he is just a silly man with a silly opinion ... don't take it personal.

I thought the Swiss were " neutral " ..... I guess that doesn't apply to opinions. :)

........... "opinionated personality" ............
really have not noticed that on this Forum. :D
