Took the youngest daughter and 40 out wheelin at Clayton, Ok on Green Country Cruisers annual picnic. She renamed the 40 Buck, after the movie Uncle Buck. Due to exhaust leaks and carb, Buck backfires when you let off the gas!

Finally got some HID's for the 40. He said "Let there be light and you shall see". And I do see, a lot better.

Cut, Weld, Grind, Repeat....oh how I hate rusted steel. It is taking shape, just oh so slowly.

Worse yet, after a long days work, I forgot to take a pic of my work at the end of the day :bang:

Keep focused on the goal :steer:

Mac

Love the rear wheel flair, did you fab it yourself or was this a prefab unit? Really cool!:beer::beer:

not enough
but did mount the spare tire carrier (took some love to deal with my new sill wings/lower mount holes)
did a little body work (never enough)
sprayed most of the underside with rust converter
drove around the neighborhood a few times

oh, and 78fj40mg, i'm jealous of the garage...that lift must be a dream

I've been waiting all my working life for this, finally the dream has materialized. Thank you!

WOW. That shop is big.

Thanks! It's 36' x 48', however, by the time I move all the toys in and wife's wood shop it might get a bit tight.

Someday I too will need a warehouse for my toys... Owning a house should probably come first though... Haha

Yeah, we are HOPEFULLY going to build a nice shop/garage next spring. My wife and I have 7 cars and trucks between us and 5 quads and motorcycles and we bought a house without a garage.

I actually took my cruiser to a shop for the first time ever yesterday becuase I don't have a garage. My intake gasket was leaking bad causing it to barely run. I didn't really want to open up my motor at all with it pouring rain and no garage. I figured at this point I just want it running again and don't care anymore about pride. :(

Plus, I am happy to have our patio back and didn't want the cruiser on it again! haha.

However, she's running good now and I'm going to take it wheeling for the first time in a LONG time Sunday and enjoy the fresh snow in the Sierras! :bounce:

:DWondering what you think of the SOR Trans/transfer case oil return line? Does it work - was it worth the $$ - think it could be fabrecated @ home for less money???. Any idea what size the fitting were?? I'm thinking maybe 10 mm or maybe 3/4 pipe???? Been thinking about the same fix but looking for fewer $$ out the door??

Thanks - LBM:bounce:

Drained and filled the transmission and transfer case. As expected the transmission had much more oil in it than the t-case. Replaced the fill plugs with the oil return line kit from $OR. I had to cut the hose in half on the oil return line as it is too long for the three speed to transfer case distance.

bought an FJ, finally.

1976 FJ40. been looking at these for a while. finally found one id spend the money on. Excited to enjoy her in the pacific northwest.
