oil filter and greased

got new muffler and tailpipe installed, had a couple cracks in header , got them welded

New dome lights - old ones never worked. May not seem like much, but a dome light that comes on when the door opens sorta makes a truck seem like it's alive.

New bump stops under the hood - no more rattle.

Little things mean a lot.

Hi All:

Installed a "home-brewed" u-bolt flip kit on the rear axle today.

Also removed some leaves from the OME 60 Series springs under the rear axle, for more flex. Tackle the front axle install of the flip kit tomorrow.

Regards,

Alan

Not much but something...

Hi all. A couple of pics of my cruiser before and after. Not any big deal stuff but every little bit helps!;) Just sanded the nasty old brown paint off of the bezel, banged out a couple of dents, primed, sanded, primed, sanded, primed.... painted, wet sanded, painted, wet sanded, painted... :p I used rustoleum ruddy brown primer out of a rattle can and then Krylon in the closest white I could get to the factory in a rattle can. I think it looks pretty darn good for a first attempt at a little body work! Also, I've been wanting to cut my bumper down. I liked the shorty idea from a wheeling standpoint, but also wanted to add a little bling to it. So as I was trying to figure out what angle looked best while looking at the other bumpers on here, my :princess: glanced over my shoulder and said she liked the angle idea but that it needed to match the angle of the front Apron. Why didn't I think of that? Anyway, I tried my grinder with a cut off blade first, but that was spraying sparks everywhere and taking to long, so I got the ol' sawzall out and made short work of it. Then used the grinder to smooth it out nice. Pretty happy with the results. I'm going to pull it off and paint it soon, but need to buy some PB knocker loose first as I broke three bolts attempting to get it off last night. :bang: I want to get some flat strap and cap the ends of the bumper, as I think that will give it a nice, finished look. But... to do that, I'd have to buy a welder. So I did! (Last Pic) after reading on here quite a bit, I decided to go with the Hobart Handler 210; as it seemed to be an excellent product with the most bang for the buck. Really looking forward to getting it and honing my welding skills, so I can start on getting rid of some of that pesky rust. (And hopefully make a little extra money to support the cruiser habit.:D )

installed 45 turn signals onto my 40 (a little style and function decision, i didnt want to nock off those big stock signals on the fenders, and it pays a little bit of homage to my time as a jeep kid -blinkers centered under head lights- while still being 100% toyota

also installed new relay relay rod and tie rod along w/new steering box

and as soon as i track down the wire that is making my turn signals operate my hazards and find out why i have no tail lights ill be back on the road!

thursday cant get here soon enough!! :D

Fixed the broken steering shaft, and put in a new Borgeson u-joint. Got a new-to-me early-style gauge cluster and started tearing it & mine apart for a rebuild. I'll combine the good/best parts out of both and hopefully end up with one fully functional gauge cluster.

Anybody have recommendations for the best way to repaint the white lettering on the gauges? I've already scoured the wife's makeup kit for the red fingernail polish for the needles......

Hello All,
This past Saturday Jared and I removed the seats, gas tank, the heater just behind the seats. Yesterday/last night I began working in the engine bay. I almost have the radiator out. I had to cut some of the old, really old, radiator hoses. I lowered the front grill. I work more tonight.

dropped the tranny and TC of at Mudraks for final review and assembly. once it's back, to the back of the SBC it goes, then into the 40 for engine and tranny mount fabrication.

pulled all remaining wiring out and cleaned up some ****** welds from the PO

moved from the raceway to a friends house for drivetrain install and frame cage tie-in completion.

Put the carby back in after Mark rebuilt it. Thanks Mark.

Went snow wheelin', did some donuts, played in the rocks, found an under ice hidden hole while putt'n around in 2hi. 11 inches of snow hides stuff pretty good!

This is the first time it's been muddy...or even dirty for that matter. Usually it's just dust and rock rash underneath.
