Finally put silicone in the bolt holes for the windshield hinges. Maybe my feet will stay dry this winter.

FJ40: Just ordered a new radiator and hoses. Install planned for the weekend

LX450: Install new Front Lower Control arms and bushings. Also planned for this weekend

aaaah, that beautiful original old school F engine...a genuine 250k engine life. The sound, feel and torque is terrific and is a true "land cruiser". It holds almost 8 quarts in order to lube at severe angles...no V8 can do that with 4-5 quarts! Destin, you are doing a fantastic job...nothing can beat the original Toyota design!

Raided the junk yard for 4 seat belts that I installed on my OEM jump seats in the back. Now all my boys can go with me. I also installed a coolant reservoir that I picked up off an old toyota economy car. Fit like a champ with very little modifications to the truck.

Now it's time to start putting some miles on it :).

Replaced incandescent dash lights with a string of red LED's from Walmart. $16 and works perfectly.

It's been awhile since I posted in here so just a quick update.

Valvetrain on the original F broke into 4 pieces. Repaired
Side cover sprung a horrendous oil leak. Repaired
Attempted to run new DUI Distributor but module was bad. Replaced with original distributor.
Drove 10 miles, and distributor walked out disengaging oil pump.
Original F motor locked up. Stripped then junked.
Scored a low mileage 2F. Installed
Trans on FJ62 cashed out. Replaced
FJ40 back on the road.

See short and sweet.

Painted the steering wheel certer cap and the interior of the ash tray black.
Thats about it, had to work on my buddies new '92 Mustang GT.

Dropped off for a new cage to be built....thanks LT and Mark Threw old cage in scrap bin at work aka making more room in the shop for the mistress, for when she returns.

Changed the engine oil, Tranny oil, Transfercase oil, and both diffs oil. It was all very clean and made my happy the the PO had done routine maintenance. Also changed the spark plug, wires, distributor cap and rotor. I also painted the rusty chrome wagon wheels a gunmetal color and hoping that it will hold me over until I get a stock set. Week one of new ownership done. Next week hope to install new seat covers and repaint the air intake.

Got a big box of parts in that I haven't had time to open yet, mostly some nice seats. Drained the diff fluid from the 60 front end and 40 rear end as well as started prepping the mini housing to cut. Then I picked up my frame and spun it around before getting back to writing a term paper. Nothing pic worthy.

ground off 1/8" thick bondo and 30yr of paint to see how bad the rust was then rattle canned the front krylon od green. "repaired" rust holes in passenger front door, but forgot to add weep holes...then cut slits in it after it rained to drain about a gallon of water inside of the door. But I put gas in the toy and went for a cruise.
