Pulled out the tranny/t-case & doubler for the (hopefully) last time so that I can install the body lift and prep & paint the frame.

Also insulated the shed, only related in that it's what prevented me from getting the lift installed ;-). Next weekend - get the lift in and do the finish welding/grinding on the frame so that I can get the rust bullet laid down.

Also - finished my 'conversation' (read: battle) with the CA BAR. I lost, so no 6BT powered FJ80 in my future.........

Added some oil the other WEEK and today at the local dunes I notice...no filler cap! I used rags for the day. And, the steering stabilizers bracket on the axle sheared. It was a good day wheeling though.

Finished welding in passenger floor pan and soaked my tranny/transfer case in oven cleaner to remove caked on oil and grime.

made 1/20th scale model of my fj40

well, this may not be the cup of tea that most of you drink from, but at church we have this AWANA Club, and it was pine-wood durby night, so i spent the weekend making a scale model of my fj40-69. it was much harder than i suspected at first. but, i got the thing done, and it ran 5th place for speed, and the design catagory was for kids only. so, i lost that one. But, i really like this. it will go well with all the fj40 books, articles, ads, and pictures i have collected over the years.

Change the safari snorkel head for a tractor precleaner that i got for $28.00 on ebay ( online stores sells the same product for $ 65.00 plus ride,so if you need info. ,let me know) check all the dirty that don't go inside the carburetor..and that was just in 4 1/2 hours that we run in the dusty-swamp trail in Orlando ,Fl. It's work for me.:grinpimp:

Hi All:

I took my rig 'wheeling last weekend for the first time since doing the front suspension modification.

Installed longer front springs in a "flipped" position along with Ford shock towers. Also got some new tires! :D

Regards,

Alan
