What better way to spend a rainy Saturday morning: Trial run for the hoist, getting closer to the 4-speed conversion project. Also cut some slots to make dowels for installation of the oil pan and trans swap.

Slave cylinder blew so replacing with new one as well as new master cylinder and oem rubber hose from City Racer. There shipping was faster from California than the Toyota parts deal clutch spring coming from Florida. Ordered the slave/ master cylinder last Saturday and got here on Thursday usps. Ordered the spring from Toyota parts deal at the same time usps and it’s still not here. Supposedly Monday now.
Almost stripped the hard line so we’ll see if it leaks. Where is the best place to order a new one just in case?

Did you try Cruiser TEQ? Anything is better than USPS right now.
I didn’t see any on the site but I’ll check again. I got it bled ok. there’s a miniscule leak at the master but tolerable for now. I’ve been chasing an idle problem that came up today. It’s been cutting off sporadically. I adjusted the carb mixture and idle a bit but I think I need to do another valve adjustment now. It was making a knocking sound earlier and was hard cranking after sitting for a couple of weeks. I pulled the plugs and they were very dark so I cleaned them off. I’ve still got some work ahead to get her running dependably. She’s been running very well up until today.

Green Bean, I used the poser method with small zip ties vs string. I also left my pan on top of the gasket with some weight to help meld the cork in to the corners better too. No leaks so it worked. Good luck!

Video works. Clean rig. Love the sounds of a clattering diesel 👍🏼.

Did you recently installl those shackles? I’m pretty sure the angled pieces go on the outsides rather than the insides. The reason (I think) is to provide some protection for the zerk fittings.
Dang it. I did the same thing to the rear !! Arrrg.!! Should be an easy fix…

New rear suspension parts..

Looks like you’re well on your way for an Academy Award…. Clear video, good clear sound. Some scenes are just really enhanced and nicely explained by video

I recently installed the master/slave combo from JT Outfitters. It came with a stainless steel braded Teflon line. Easy enough to replace the hard line. I think they sell it separately.

I removed the front leaf springs last night. I'm going to prep them and add a new fresh coat of paint. New shackles, spring pins, bushings will be installed along with a set of new shocks. The bushings were basically disintegrated and most of everything was riding on metal to metal. I'm anticipating a softer, quieter ride.

Good job, keep posting with end product!

Working on replacing the old mini-truck power steering with fj60 PS setup. Also, adding seat heaters and new foam to the stock seats and getting View attachment 3549260the hard top, sides and rear door repaired.

Looks like your initial doors gaps are lining up. We used the AQ cowl and windshield frame and that took some “tweaking” to get everything lined up with good gaps on the door/windshield and door to tub alignments. Curious to see how you look with the Hard Top cap in place. I did catch you’re using your windshield frame, just curious to see if the stock frame is a factor.

Nicely done BTW..
