What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Rebuilt a power steering pump, conducted a test drive post axle swap, and washed off some road dirt and garage dust. As a side note, highly unusual to drive on salt free roads in NY in January.

How’s your breaking? Did you remove the residual pressure valve from the master cylinder?
JohnnyFish, my breaking is slightly better as the 81 rear drums appear to be bigger than the 74 Drums. I previously converted the front from drum to disc and removed the residual then so no change on the front.

Hi JKIII,

FJ looks great. May I ask the colour and finish you have on the wheels. Also, tire size. I've picked up a set for my '81 BJ40 in Ireland. It's red and I think the wheel colour may finish it nicely.

Kind regards,

Barry
Barry,
Here are the details on the paint; 2011-2020 Toyota, code# 4V6 Quicksand. Sherwin Williams # 5355204, Eggshell clear coat. The wheels are stock Toyota 16x6 wheels with 235/85R16s. It's been two years since I put them on but if memory serves me right, they are stock FJ60 wheels. I went with 235/85s as it is a common tire for many pickups and in the event, I trash two tires on an adventure I know almost every tire shop has that size laying around.

Brilliant. Many thanks John for your concise and detailed reply. Much appreciated.

Installed one of @lcwizard tire carriers today. Need to pull it off and paint/powder coat it but I love the overall look and quality!

Ignore the 80 series wheel. I just threw it up there because I didn’t have my spare handy.

Lots of parking available but could not resist parking next to this - a nice MacLaren Supercar. Probably added 50% to the value of the MacLaren

Wiring and rig look super clean!

You might consider upgrading to a plastic fan blade at some point, your metal fan looks to be in great shape but mine threw a blade when I was in the desert. The projectile blade only cut into the metal pan below but others have had them cut into coolant hoses, radiators and their hood. In my case I was able to break off the other fan blade opposite the one that separated on it's own and it was balanced enough to get home. The plastic fans blades are not only more durable but more efficient and less loud.

Finally getting some paint down on the load tray. First time painting anything really. Definitely a 10 footer, but I'm just happy that for the first time ever the rig is mostly nearly all one colour

Also did some maintenance around the engine bay. Turned down the fuel pressure a bit. Hopefully will help getter better gad mileage.

Obligatory engine rev video...
