What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week? (49 Viewers)

Replaced the power steering pump, last one had a small shaft seal leak that slung a nice black sludge as the oil burned on the belt inside the hood and fender. Also added tweeter speakers, snuck the wire under the knee pads and held in place with two sided tape. The most amazing part is both repairs came out well the first time, weird…

What PS mount are you using?

Front axle finished up. Marlin Crawler hi-steer. Suspension mostly installed. Tires and wheels mounted.

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 275/70/17 (32.4")

Going to try to make time to mate up the new H55F and new Toyota tcase and get it in the roller by this weekend.

Just get it done.

Rebuilt motor, new H55F and new Toyota tcase. Aisin clutch kit and resurfaced flywheel mated up and set.

Now to use one of my reproduction Tcase shifter and linkage kits and get driveshafts made.

Next on to the bodywork!

Transfer shifter looks like 60 and 70 series.
70 series top picture and 60 series second from the bottom in the next picture. Curious if you have considered making the one for the 40 series, third from the bottom? Those are still about an inch further back than four speed in the 40 seriies.

If I can get a donor.... I'll reproduce it. I usually give the donor a free part once finished.

Not an elaborate project but after 6 months …maybe more, here is the spare tire carrier …painted and mounted
Waiting for the tire probably coming tomorrow. Also (and here is a big one) I screwed the wing nuts on the air cleaner cover studs. Got them from @ToyotaMatt months ago

On this topic - where do you need room? Granted this is a 75 series lever for h55/split case but here it is compared to a 85-87 fj60 lever. I used it when I realized the 75 series tcase I bought has a longer 2-4 selector rod and I had already sealed up the transfer case. This did the trick in giving me the extra space to put the tcase back into place on a 60. In addition here’s a 75 series link, it also kicks forward more for extra clearance and could be used with a 40 lever.

I am aware of that later lever. Have a number of them. Here are a few pictures comparing the correct one to the later one.

While it moves it forward is also moves away from the transmission and closer to the transmission tunnel. It also doesn't work with the shift of gate. I have a late shift gate that needs to be modified a little to fit the H55F.

Where did you source the canvas soft top from?
Aloha Jen,
I got the canvas top from Soft Top FJ40/FJ42 - https://www.citroa.com/shop/soft-top-fj40-fj42-2349#attr=209,211,684.
TROA is out of Florida, but the canvas came from Columbia.
Just know it's not as tight as I wanted it to be, but that could be because i bought the frame from another source.
I bought the frame kit from Ebay, from Real Steel Cruiser Parts.
If was to order it again, I would have ordered it with out the straps for the sections that zip up.

Aloha!
Rob

If you are willing.. send me the shifter and HL linkage and I will set a jig and make file for them. PM me if interested.
