Nice 40 Jen! There's a lot to work with there. What year is it? BTW you don't have to wait to start a thread. You've got the 40 and a camera, that's all you need. Plus the bezel is right side up. You're good to go!

That 200 is gorgeous. What color is that? If you could get the diesel version here I would be in for one of these.
How dare you accuse me of such shenanigans....

Was trying very hard to wait and start a proper intro and build thread, but I just couldn't wait since parts and pieces from the purchase are still slowly filtering in. More to come!
Today I started working on View attachment 1564842 the steering column and restoring misc. pieces. Also sanded down the decrepit steering wheel and then sanded some more. I used some epoxy primer then going to sand again. A couple before and afters. On the steering column cover and plastic steering wheel parts I wet sanded with 2000 grit and buffed and polished. I think they came out pretty decent.

Yes that is exactly what I did. First sanded with 2000 grit. Then buffed with a 3m three stage buffing compound using a small wool buffing pad and a drill. I figured I would give it a try since I couldn't make them worse that what they already were. I was pleasantly surprised.Am I understanding that you sanded the black parts with 2000 grit and then buffed them? What compound did you use? More info?
Yet another vintage vehicle ? ... to go with your collection of fire extinguishers ??Fire Extinguishers are a MUST for vintage vehicles.
Guess what I'm buying tomorrow?
I caught my '73 on fire. I think the relay for my electric fan was bad and went to ground (you can see it sitting on the fender). It caught my air cleaner on fire and some oil under my Cruiser. Luckily I had a fire extinguisher close by.View attachment 1565377
