... That & a UFO over Mt. Ranier. Cool UFO over the mountain looking upon & admiring your Cool Cruiser !! :)
Good example of a lenticular cloud. Here are some with multiple layers over Mt. Rainier:

thanks, its a stock harness. i'll give it i go.

Quick check for good / bad ground:
Take your jumper cables. Use only the black clamps.
One (black) clamp on the battery negative, the other (black) one on a bare metal bracket on the engine.
What works now?

You really should start a thread for this... Title it "Real Time Electric Help Needed!!", or something appropriate... Post up the symptoms and what you've tried... That will get you many more replies/suggestions... Not everyone sees/reads this current thread.

Maybe then, Rudi (@bj40green ) and/or Mark (@Coolerman) will see it and offer suggestions... They are the experts.

As @mdsims said, grounds are critical... Don't assume they are good, pull the bolts and clean the connections thoroughly.

Dumb questions, nothing personal!! I don't know what applies to an HJ, so I'll list whatever comes to mind.

1. Have you checked the fusebox ground to the chassis?
2. "Starter switch is working"... But, does starter have a good ground to the frame?
3. Check battery negative ground to frame, behind passenger wheel.
4. You have a fusible link and it's fine... But, what about the fusible link connection to the harness? Is that a good connection?
5. Have you checked the fuse that runs the parking lights? You may have a blown fuse that's tainting your presumptions... E.g. You think the parking lights should be working, but they have a different problem...
6. Have you checked the 'engine' fuse? Actually, check all your fuses... Don't assume they are good, simply because they "look" good.
7. Have you checked the connections on the back of the gauge cluster... Ammeter? The large white-blue wire runs to ammeter. There is also a ground wire. WARNING: Be sure you disconnect your battery before, pulling the gauge cluster, or you could short everything out.
8. Do you have a battery cutoff switch? Is it on? Is it possibly broken?
9. Have you cleaned your battery terminals/clamps and verified your battery cables are still good?
10. Do you have some sort of oil pressure safety switch? Could it be defective and not allowing momentary current to starter?

That's all I can think of right now.

Start yourself a thread and you'll get a lot of help.

Good luck!!

thanks so much guys, i eventually got it sorted. i traced it back and found some wires that had been done incorrectly. something stupid and yet simple that takes hours to find and fix. i like the idea of starting my own thread though, because my EDIC is now not working, and i still have no charge. (suspect bad alternator that is new). i also have a 12h-t that is going to get put in, i will also have some electrical questions regarding that too. the people on this site are awesome. thanks again.

I've heard it said that electrical problems are usually quick and easy to fix... before you react... finding the problem usually isn't so simple or easy.

Hanging with your dog and your 40........ you may never get noticed!

Finally got my '76 smog'd to comply with Kalifornia. Sadly removed my Colorado plates for Kali ones. Also added new ARB front bumper with Warn Winch. Perfect to knock CJ's (or pretty much anything) out of my way, and then pull them out of the ditch. Also added 4Plus rear tire and cooler/gerry can carrier. I cheated and did none of the work myself. Props to Valley Hybrids and Cruisers in Stockton. Excellent work.

I love that color. I struggle against the urge to paint my rig like yours versus its' original 416/Dune Beige color

Yeah I love the color. I do like dune beige as well. My 45 is Judson Green, but I though loveand hard about making it dune beige.

Had a really good day at the auto hobby shop on McChord yesterday.

Got the oil changed in both differentials
Replaced the transmission fluid
Oil change and filter
New spark plugs
Removed an old brake pressure driven trailer brake thing
Did a bunch cleaning on, and around the frame
And a few other odds and ends

Looks the one I had in high school, but infinitely better shape. Im hunting one now.

Looks awesome.

Thanks! I just bought it from SuperT, another Mudder. It was a trial to get it here due to my not being available to make it happen, but my lovely bride did the leg work. I am so pumped to finally have an FJ55.
