T That's my experience as well. My plug and hitch were in a box in the back and I installed them myself. It's pretty straight-forward to install. The hardest part was finding the correct mounting bolts, which were not a part of the plug kit. It's also one of the oddest locations for the plug I've ever seen.

You guys must be referring to the hitch cover or ball mount and wire harness plug, I was thinking the actual hitch was part of the LCs frame. I cant see how the hitch could be shipped loose.

Those wire harnesses being shipped loose, laying in the back might explain why some get installed and others don't, the dealer could be either lazy, cheap, or crooked and planning to resell them for 2-300.00 bucks when your average consumer discovers it is not there and comes back in to buy one.
US Toyota dealers in this area, don't seem to be all that up to speed on Land Cruisers, neither did the national Toyota customer service people I spoke with this week. I guess because there are not very many sold here in the states. They all seem very confused on these trailer plugs. I was told by both at first that the part didn't exist, not ever offered, not included, none of which was true. I had to force all of them to dig deeper into it, and the national Customer service people still said they didn't come with the plug, but finally agreed to reimburse me if I got it handled on my own . to me it is just crazy how this little plug is such a difficult deal for Toyota USA to figure out, local dealers included in that, they all had a hard time with it.

Can someone take a picture of this mysterious harness?

Someone posted this pic about 10 pages or so back. Its the plug, mounting bracket and harness, all comes as one part. It all plugs right into to two capped off plugs up under the rear bumper on the right side of the spare tire.

Again, I've got a brand spanking new one in the wrapper if anyone wants to buy it. $100

Thats $100 cheaper than a dealer. :)

Got my rock warrior spare tire mod done along with rock sliders.

I installed a set of ARB drawers I ordered from Slee and then built a base shelf to mount my fridge and slide. The slide was too wide for the space between the drawers and the wheel well, so I built the shelf about six inches taller to get up over the wheel well arch. As a bonus, it gives me a great space underneath to store my Dutch oven table and other stuff. I couldn't match the ARB carpet perfectly, but it's close and looks decent.

I also installed a couple of USB and 12v outlets behind the fridge, and mounted my rechargeable flashlight back there. Everything is wired to my auxiliary battery. Overall, I'm really pleased with this setup and the drawers from Slee.

Could you have done this if you had wanted to? Is there enough room to put the ARB drawers you purchased side by side?
It seems from the picture from ARB's site that there are some ARB drawers that will.

I opted for the wider drawer units, which don't look like they'd fit side-by-side because of the wheel well trim pieces. They do make a narrower unit that would've fit like you want. It'd be a great unit in that configuration, particularly with the optional side trim kit.

It's not as significant as other improvements, but I did install a new battery this weekend. My old Optima red top finally petered out after 4.5 years. No complaints considering where it's been, but it was on its death bed for the last few months. It's replacement is a DieHard Platinum, which seems to have one heck of a reputation. Time will tell...

While I'm at it, any recommendations for a deep cycle battery for my fridge, radio, and other accessories? I was looking at a DieHard Platinum Marine, but wanted to see if there's something better out there.

The Odysseys Extreme is supposed to be nice, though I can't remember is they are deep cycles. I have heard great things about the DieHard Platinum Marines as well. I'll be watching to see what others are saying, as this is relevant to my interests.

Well, I did it; I ordered the last TJM T13 that Summit Racing had in stock!

Woohoo!

What you talkin' about?! She already sexy!

Conrats!

I used about 30 solo cups to keep my hardware organized. I marked on the cups what was in them - that helped big time.

That was a pic I posted. Let me know if there are more needed.
Any way you could snap a shot inside of the plug with the cap lifted? I managed to shatter the entire and bracket while wheeling and just need a shot of the inside to make sure I got it all back together right.

Thanks @Archtaan , I'll be using your write-up during the install for sure!
