Is that a Al-Futtaim Xtreme edition?

The black wheels on the TLC are those 17x7 or 17x8 and do you know the offset?

I need to order 220 wheels for some TLC 76's I have here in RAK and the new G9 17x7 wheel doesnt give me the needed clearance from the rear suspension.

n/m about the xtreme edition, noticed on the other thread those are the bushmaster fender flares and not the artic truck ones.

It came with the standard 17x8 alloys. And I fit the 17x7 steels on instead

thanks for sharing those pictures, those steelies look amazingly good on your truck!

btw did you have the speed control on 1, 2 or 3 during your journey in the desert?

Very nice photos! How low do you air down to?

Don't have speed/crawl control on mine, it just has the center diff-lock, hi-lo switch and pwr/2nd-strt.

I air down to 16 PSI, usually don't need to go any lower

Nice pic bro. But we need new pic from real big sand

Haha,I'll try to find time to go to the big dunes. The pictures were from a solo trip I did so stuck to easy routes/areas I'm familiar with.

This is mapped from an older trip I did, but this was done in a Defender, I'm interested to see how the 200 will handle the same trip

How often do you go out in the 200? I'm going to be in Dubai in late Sept. are there any dessert tours I can do when I'm there?

I haven't took the 200 out to the desert that much, once I have the suspension sorted will get out some more and hopefully the weather will start getting better by end of sept. I usually go out early mornings on weekends and head out with friends or go out alone. You can find many desert safari tour companies that can take you out, You can also rent a 4x4 to offraod from some rental companies.

If you can get your hands on a 4x4 when you're down here let me know and we could organize a drive out.

I personally haven't been on any safari tour so can't comment on how well they are, but to me arabian adventures seemed the most professional/organized and are the ones I mainly see when I'm in the desert.

If you make it to Ras Al Khamiah - When you are here in the UAE let me know, and you are welcome to take a tour of our armored car factory where we are usually armoring 60-80 TLC's a month.

Desert Nomad, thanks for the links!

Xkennx, If I get to Ras Al Khamiah, I will let you know. Thanks!

Do you need a UAE drivers license to rent a 4x4. From briefly looking
online it looks like if you want to drive you can rent a razor but not a full
sized vehicle. I would love to rent a land cruiser and take out in the dunes.

You can rent a 4x4 with a USA driver lic. - you can contact Off-Road Zone http://www.offroad-zone.com/ they rent 4X4 on a daily and weekly rate.

Not sure if you will find a TLC 200 within a reasonable price, but you can get a jeep or FJ cruiser.

If you're here on a visit visa you can rent cars with your US license. 4x4's and Lc's are usually already rented out but you can easily book in advance online or call up the rental company. If the cruiser isn't available they usually downgrade to a Prado, Fortuner or Pajero.

Amazing pictures and a nice car, Desert Nomad! What kind of side-awning do you have? Do you can add some detail pictures, how you fix it to the roof rails?

I have to buy one in the next days, and was not shure how i could do it, only with the roof rails.

One month ago, i was in Dubai, have booked a selfdrive tour, to train my sand driving skills, and have some sight-seeing.

To rent a car is possible (with international driving licence) - but do you really want to drive into the desert with only one car? You have to work with 42 degree celsius - to get the car out -when you got stuck - not a good idea ;)

Next time i will post here my visit plans - maybe we can arrange a nice evening to chat, eat and maybe do a ride with rentals ;) And to have the chance to visit the factory, and to see the armored cars - would be amazing too!
