It’s come to my attention that some of you may have a parts kink. Here’s some fresh meat for you.

Prebuilt hub and bearing assemblies from @cruiseroutfit. These things are absolute units.

I was going to tackle this weekend but I realized that my torque wrench tops out at 150 lb-ft and my hub socket is 3/4” drive so will have to wait.

Technically a different type of aneurysm, but still (kindof) relevant.

Thank you! I run those exact same hub units on my personal 200 and we race on them in the Canguro 200. 😎

My 200 got a long overdue wash and vacuum. King of the Hammers did a number on it. I started by taking the leaf blower to the interior with all the doors open. :D

I went and got my tires rotated and balanced on my 2015 LX570 w/ 130,000 miles. Then I ended up replacing the rotors and brake pads on all four corners.
This may be just another day to others, but it was a big step for me.

Four months ago, and a week after I finished up my last PM job. I was getting ready to bust out my spark plug job, and replace the fluids on the front differential. Instead, I ended up having a thoracic aortic aneurysm & dissection.
I'm really lucky to be alive!
46 years old and I thought I was having a heart attack. Instead they found a tear on my ascending aorta. I ended up being rushed to another hospital and having emergency open heart surgery. They cracked my chest opened and replaced my ascending aorta from right above the root on my heart, to where the ascending aorta meets the descending aorta on my hemiarch.

I'm currently on a 50lb weight restriction. So my daughter, and my other daughter's boyfriend came over and did all the heavy lifting and torques specs for me.
It just felt good to have a wrench in my hands😎

Glad you stuck around and I hope this was a one off thing and there’s no more surprises like this for you.

You’re 2 years younger than me and approaching 50 has really been weird for me, stories like this always stick with me for a while.

Fresh and clean.

Holy s*** man! Glad you’re feeling better!
Thanx man, I appreciate it!
I’m glad you’re here to tell the tale. It doesn’t end like this a lot of times.

Nice work on the brakes too! Did you flush the nasty fluid?
No, I haven't taken her in for a brake fluid flush yet, but I need to. In regards to the tale. It is definitely a crazy story. that I never saw coming. All I remember is going to the grocery store the night before, and when I got home from the store, I went to bed. Next thing I know, it's 2-3 days later, and I'm waking up in the cardiovascular critical care unit at the hospital with a bunch of lines coming out of me. I started freaking out and it took a few days for all the drugs to wear off before I could process what had happened. I never knew that I had a tear in my aorta to begin with. Apparently it had been building up for years. They told my family that when they cracked me open, and saw how distended my aorta was that they were really suprised that it didn't burst in the ambulance ride to the hospital for surgery. One funny thing to come from this is when my family finally gave me my phone back, I had a ton of notifications from mud in regards to the Witt's End drama thread that was going on🤣
Damn - glad you’re here to tell us about it and you have people that can help you out!
Thank you and same here. The running joke at work, is that God & Satan both looked thru the memes on my phone at the same time and said "Put him back on earth! It's just to soon!"🤣

Good ole Archer! Man I haven't seen that show in years. Aneurysm wise...they all scare me! AAA's scare me the most though😬

Unfortunately, they found another tear while they were in there. So I still have a residual Type B tear on the descending side of my aorta. It's sucks because they are saying this is a hereditary issue, but it is what it is. They told me they were not concerned about the tear they found, and that with some lifestyle changes, diet changes and keeping my blood pressure under 130, they will just continue to monitor me with CT and doppler scans every 6 months.
I work in the operating room and I would be liar if I told you I wasn't scared, but I made a promise to myself right before I left the hospital that I'm not going to let this define me, and that I'm going to give it everything I have and go down swinging.
I've scrubbed a few emergency Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm cases in my day. Of all of the cases I've scrubbed, those cases are the hardest to handle because it's the closest someone coming back to surgery will ever be to death, and I've never seen anyone survive a AAA. So you can imagine how I felt when I woke up and found out what happened to me.
I know how lucky I am and I'm really grateful that I got a second chance at life🤙

Thankful you’re here to tell the tale. An aortic aneurysm is what took my dad 25 years ago next Wednesday (3/6) at 53 yo. Best wishes for a full recovery!

This is the type of grit we all hope to be able to call upon if the time ever arises. Thanks for sharing your experience and passing along some of that big taint energy, it’s inspiring.

New wheels and tires. Much better ride than the old 20” wheels plus a style upgrade.

I’ve been wanting to ditch the 20”s for a bit but wanted to keep the stockish look. The other day while at home depot getting supplies for a DIY sleeping platforms, my girlfriend spots a silver LC with RWs and says “babe those wheels look great with silver. You should get those.” Sourced a set of TRD RWs from another forum member and found a deal on some Kenda RTs in 285/70/17. Now to hit the trail!

Great outcome. 3 weeks ago I had my chest cracked and a new mitral and aortic valve put in. The aortic was a surprise. Modern medicine and surgery is amazing but I don’t really want to know the details. It only took them about 4 hours, so I guess they had the right parts in stock. Right now I’m on a 10# weight restriction, so I am limited to going into the garage and pressing the remote start on the key fob to let the LX run for awhile to keep the battery charged. How long did it take for you to be able to drive again?

I'm a rocker, dude! Lol

Congrats on the new valves, can you hear the mechanical "ticking" sound? My surgery took about 7hrs, I guess I had a pretty good sized tear, and in one of the worst spots(go figure). The surgeon told me when he was rounding the day before I left "I see you are a Go big, or go home kinda of guy. Not bad for a first surgery."
I got my driving privileges back one week after I was released from the hospital. The reason I was able to get my driving privileges back so quick was b/c I refused the narcotics they tried to send home with me. After how much fentanyl and ketamine they pushed on me while I was in the CCU, I just sucked it up and dealt with the pain.
I remember that 10lb weight restriction, and I also remember sitting in the car and letting it run lol. Then my restriction a few weeks later went up to 25lbs, and now it's at 50lbs. They did tell me to be prepared to possibly be on a 50lb restriction for life. I guess as long as I can play my guitars and enjoy life I'm not gonna complain.

Changed the tranny fluid. It had been acting weird sporadically for the last few months. Some days you could reverse out of the garage into the street, put it in drive, then sit there for up to a minute before it would go. Other times it would just buck like it was stuck between neutral and first gear. Most days it would be fine. Usually on really cold days but garage was always at least 50 degrees. Took out 14 to 14.5 quarts and put in 15. It had been 60K since the last change so not sure why it happened so many years later. No issues yet but it has warmed up. (been a couple weeks)

Also have been chasing down a high pitched clink. Sounded kind of like a bell. Thought it was a loose hitch pin in the towing bag.
Finally figured out how to reproduce the sound with the car off. Just had to drop the tailgate. FInally tracked it down to loose hinge/latch pins in the Iceco fridge. All 8 (dual door) were loose. Went ahead and replaced both doors since the new ones have just been sitting in the shed for a couple of years. That one was going to drive me crazy.

So make sure you check your hinge/latch pins on your Iceco fridges.

What sort of trimming was required?
I used TeCKis300's thread "Fitting Full Fat 35x12.5 on an LX". With the Patagonia M/T 02 I couldn't get the mud flap trick to work without heavy rubbing. I didn't need to trim the body mount brackets. I have 1.25" instead of the 1" wheel spacers and i catch the upper fender lip and inter liner pretty bad. I'm still working out the kinks, leaning towards some 1/4" bump stop extensions until I have time to figure out a permanent solution. I also used the same size spare listed in TeCKis300's post but the Patagonia's are a little taller I put it in the spare location, but it probably doesn't have enough room for most people maybe an 1/8" of room between it and the control arm.
