Wife and I kicked around moving there with a recent job offer but she doesn't handle winters very well. Love that area, winter or summers so it was a no brainer for my vote.

I gave him your advice. His MOS is Combat Engineer. He is really looking forward to it. He has wanted to be a Marine since he was six years old. He has been in the Poolie program for the past eight months. Also, as an Eagle Scout, he will come out of boot as a PFC at E2. I'm rather proud of the boy. He's done good.

That's awesome. I went through Parris Island in 2006, glad he's achieving his dreams and goals.

Finally got the Icon wheels installed. They were sitting in our back room since last October.

I put the Morimoto shift knob on. Wrong color wood but feels good. Also did the tray for the center console fridge and did husky WB mats

Designed and 3d printed a MagSafe dash mount. This is a work in progress, but for those of us that have modern iPhones, don’t want to block an AC vent and don’t use the CD slot, should work great for charging and navigation.
I’ll probably widen the upper contact area to better distribute the load and rotate the phone more toward the driver. For now my free version of Fusion is struggling with the 3D scan I have of the dash profile.. but the whole thing is an interesting project that I’ve been wanting to work on for a while.

It’s a revoscan pop 2 that I got used from a friend. It has given me a fair amount of trouble but that could very well be user error. Too many irons in the fire to really dial in any specific one.
I had to use blue painters tape on the dash to get a good scan (no surprise - piano black) and now the real challenge is that even with a number of simplification steps the number of triangles is a lot for Fusion to process into a solid. But as I said, I probably need to work on my processes. Just wanted to get this thing in place for a trip in a week.. will work on the details when I get back.

Took advantage of the long weekend and being home. Driving the truck to CO in a few weeks for some group trail events and camping.
2018 LC is at 57k.
Replaced air filter and cabin filter. Replaced aux AGM battery. Got about 4 years out of the previous Odyssey.
Did a fluid change on power steering, front and rear differentials and transfer case. These had been done before at 28k and back then I upgraded the drain and fill hardware adding magnetic versions where applicable. No problem getting loosened.
Used Ravenol 75-85 again on the diffs and Ravenol 75W on the transfer case. Old fluids didn't look too bad.
Rear Diff (easiest) with sludge on the magnet drain.
Front diff. with sludge on magnets.
Transfer case had some fine metal on the magnets.
Finished up complete transmission fluid swap this AM after ATF cooled down.

While I had all Bud Built skids off, I also lubed the driveshafts. Taking off the skids and putting back is a majority of the effort. It's a whole lot easier using a HF transmission jack
I will do a fresh oil and filter change just before heading out and a 5 tire rotation.

I performed a drain and fill of 4 quarts from the pan. Pleasently surprised by how clean the fluid still looked after 30,000 miles. Currently at 132,000 miles and this was its 3rd service that i am aware of being performed: 1st was at 82,000-drain and fill of the pan. 2nd was at 102,000-full...

While on our 3200 miles road trip from CO to CA to OR and back to CO, my alternator died without enough notice for me to take meaningful action, like pre-order an affordable OEM part. It was a whole ordeal but I got lucky and didn't get seriously stranded anywhere. I did have to top my battery off with a cheapo charger plugged into my Ecoflow DELTA battery pack. Of course, there wasn't a Toyota one nearby and it was a holiday weekend. I was able to get a reman one from Orielly and get it into a shop to get replaced. I went ahead and replaced the battery (Odyssey Group 31 AGM) since NAPA had a 20% off sale and the old one was five years old and had been deeply depleted.

Good to hear you got it sorted out. If you are now running an AGM battery for the starter, you want to look into a mod to get the alt charging profile to do a higher 14.x volt charge. If you are in a 2008, you can do the hack to trick out the alt. to produce higher charging volts (2016+ cannot). AGM's need higher charging volts than the OEM lead acid you replaced it with to maintain longevity.

Did a pad-slap front and rear today. The inboard and outboard rear pads were fairly equally worn, with about 4mm left. The front outboard pads for both sides were significantly more worn (4mm) than the inboard pads (9mm). Can't say I like that, not to mention the squealers are on the inboard pads.
Didn't do anything with the rotors as they are fine.

Bummer. Glad you got it fixed. Last road trip I ordered a new Toyota alternator, tucked it away in the drawer wings and returned it when I got home. I should probably swap mine for preventative measures soon, it has to have close to 300k on it as it appears oem
Getting close to 100k miles, Decided to hook up the obd2 to tablet for real time monitoring durinh trip to Montana. Nice to be able to see what's going on at highway speeds and on trails/mountain roads. Definitely a permanent addition going forward.
2016, 129k miles, new to me earlier this year. Had the much discussed sloppy shifting, so I had my local dealer reflash the TCM. Fixed the issue completely, so much better. Service records show a transmission fluid replacement last year at a Toyota dealer, but obviously they did not do the reflash. Thanks all for the info.

What are you going to use for a slide for the NL Base Plate?
In my setup, I didn't have enough width to run a pair of slides vertically. So I used a pair designed for flat mounting with 180 pond rating per pair. But pulling the fridge out about half way and it sags enough to require I help by lifting it a bit. And that's with the slide empty. Currently, I lay a 2X4 on the tailgate before yanking it out to minimize sagging...

I didn't use any slide. I bolted the base plate straight down to the platform and I have to use brute force to get the fridge on/off the locking base plate and in/out of the truck. It sucks but the point of my DIY platform project for me was that it was free and quick. Fridge slides are like $500 from what I saw. If I ever upgrade to professional drawers or storage then I'll go with a slide setup. Or maybe I'll build my own fancier setup with a slide someday. But for now I'm still young and dumb enough to brute force the fridge in and out of the truck when needed.
I drool over the ADGU drawers and full kitchen and fridge setup but at 6k for that isn't cracking my priority list at the moment.

Yep, I did too. But mine is just the basic platform, one drawer, and the second row seat delete. So less than 1/3 of that price. I built my own fridge slide with drawer slides and aluminum bar from McMaster~Carr, so under $300 there. And at 70 years old, there's no way I'm moving that 90 liter fridge It's 70 pounds empty!
I removed the locking lugnuts from my LX.
