@Surfy - Everything is the same for factory components and functionality (except perhaps rear seat Aux input and steering wheel track select control, which I haven't tested yet). This GROM box just runs when you select AUX on the factory Nav screen audio menu.

One thing I was happy to find out is that for 200 series this box uses the factory Mic, so I didn't have to run a second Mic and try to hide cables, etc.

Installed the GROM Vline2 from the Group Buy, which finally arrived after a couple months. So far so good - I think everything is functioning as expected so far. Running a dedicated wifi hotspot in the cruiser so there is always a wifi network for it to use. Had to disconnect negative battery terminal one time at the end to force a hard reset to fix a weird graphics color issue that came up after a software update. I fit the GROM unit behind the factory nav screen instead of putting it in the glove box. It's tight with the cables and everything but it fit in and secured with some sticky velcro squares. Where did you end up placing the GPS receiver an Mic? I've got all my parts and plan on doing mine this weekend. Did you cut the aux wire on the 16 pin?

I put the GPS on the dash up by the windshield, towards the passenger corner. Ran the wire for GPS up from the back of the speaker center speaker grill.

My install uses the OEM microphone so I didn't run a mic.

I cut 3 wires in the 16 pin connector (Toyota side, with room to re-splice if needed) and connected the 16 pin GROM to the harness. hope that helps

Finally, received and installed a Gobi rack, ladder and ARB awning. The awning is hand-me-down from a Taco that I owned a while back. Now, I need a light bar for the front. I have been saving small Rigid lights for the back, but it seems that the rack is too far back and the spoiler will make the lights pretty ineffective. I need to rethink where to put the rear lights. I might use the Rigids to light the sides.

No one “needs” a light bar. Especially an HE doesn’t need a light bar.

I have a friend that bought one of the fancy Autobiography models last year, and I swear it leaves his driveway on a flatbed more often than under it's own power.

The wife drives one of those fancy SUV's that used to be from England - first day we had it, we went on a ski trip (this is January of this year). Week later, I hosed the salt off of it and part of the roof blew off (it's all glass save for some plastic bits). Was fixed by installing roof rails (should have been there from day one) but I'll never forget when they were trying to problem solve it and they asked if I washed the car, as sometimes that can result in removal of plastic.... I naturally asked if that's what they meant by the "worlds most capable SUV". That being said, other than that, it's been a great car (with tires like they have, it's tough to call it a truck) and a lot of fun to drive. Be interesting to see who gets what part of the market as Jeep, Ford and LR all now hope to target a similar demographic.

Re: LC 200 - Got the interior leds installed - easy when I read the comment, "there's a little indent exactly where you need to pop the plastic cover". I used a small Stihl screwdriver that came with something or other. The rear cargo light I thought I broke as I pushed the harness into the headliner but..... it's a Toyota. Sure enough, there were two switches to depress and the whole unit came down and snapped back into place. Def. worthy if you have a black interior.

Free bodywork by some POS. Looks like it’s just the rear plastic housing that broke off or clips snapped off. Mirror is still solidly attached to the car. Curious if I can snap it back on and replace blinker lens.
@TeCKis300 i know you just dissected one of these. Does the back housing clip on? Looks like clear marker cover is replaceable.

I think you'll have a good chance of snapping it back if it's not broken or distorted. The forward cover is just a beauty cover snapped in place to a metal core. Access should be pretty easy. Pull the mirror off from it's lower edge (pull directly away). Remove a couple wires for heating elements. Then you'll see all the snaps that hold the cover in place. Perhaps take off, evaluate, and reseat. Hope you'll be able to find a replacement turn signal lense. Good luck!

My neighbor leased a $150k+ LR and on the first trip home it broke. It then has a succession of failures with the first months...which I found out about because the COLOR of their “new LR” in their garage kept changing(!!). Finally asked whether I was crazy or am I color challenged...I asked, and they started listing the repeated and numerous failures, breakdowns and defects—and the dealership had maaaaany various color loaner cars at the service department.

-LR is one of the only vehicles that can make leasing seem like an extremely wise move...haha

Ill add I had a LR4...the last of the non russian doll trend that LR moved to in their less than imaginative design ideology. Never had a problem, drove like it was on rails and would climb right out of soupy mud and hunting areas. Its only downfall was my 18 yo daughter. After 3 wrecks she finally put it on the scrap heap by T-boning someone and ripping off portions of the front end. No one was hurt thank goodness but insurance said the cost of parts far exceeded the payoff. Lol.

On a side note...LCDC damage assessment found a bent trailing arm. Looks like ill be playing driveway mechanic when i get the replacement one (SPC version found on Slee).

finally got the Rooftop Tent more properly mounted although the wind noise on these round yakima bars is pretty awful at anything over 50. Would need to add the wind screen for sure if this wasn't a temp solution until i get my Gamiviti rack installed on the 19th!

Stock suspension and those are 285/65/18 Toyo OpenCountry 3s. Going to check the ride and stance once we finally get our Goose Gear drawers and get them installed then go from there.

I wouldn't necessarily expect to bend them. I'm just suuuuuper heavy (Aux tank, and major weight), and pretty aggressive through rocks. More often than not in Moab, they've come out fine. This last time with the shop, I only replaced the one, so I now have a spare (they are not side-specific, and SPC always come in pairs, unlike Toyota OEM which are ordered individually...and...Toyotas cost more--go figure).
