Decided to upgrade to the TRD pads on the front and rear of the 200. It’s amazing how much more braking power there is just swapping out the pads. I resurfaced my rotors a few months ago so I did a basic pad installation and then performed the bedding procedure.
Installed LX 570 wiper inserts (yes there is a difference in materials)

Do the TRD pads last as long?

This week...new tires, rotors, and pads all 4 corners, replaced brake fluid, power steering fluid, installed new radiator, cleaned and resealed leaking heat exchange gasket located under the intake manifold, flushed/replaced radiator fluid, thermostat, cap, and replaced water pump. After all that gave her a good clay and wax. Other than regular oil changes and brakes, this was the first “major service” after 175k miles 😁
Have you ever changed the tranny fluid, spark plugs and/or starter?

negative, tranmission fluid change would be next on the list, though still up in the air on the topic...

Do the TRD pads last as long?
They lasted about a year....so the short answer is no, not very long. And I'm not a big fan of brakes either. If you bed them in properly the increased braking bite more then makes up for the maintance cost in crash savings.

I had the terrain tamer pads and rotors on my 08 and really really liked them.

Feel a bit better after reading this. I also installed the TRD brakes in the Spring of last year and was disappointed to hear during my last service visit that they'll need replacing soon. They've worked great, but would've hoped to get more miles out of these (probably around 12k miles since install).

Hey is this normal?!

Oh, you mean it's not?!

Guess that explains the roar I've had from my RGs. Anybody want a spare 285/75/17? Cus I'll have 4 in a month or so.

What do you mean by “4 in a month or so”?

I'll be replacing the tires at some point before LCDC, mainly waiting for a good sale. These 4 are trashed for daily driving due to the noise they make, but would make good spares. In case you can't tell, they're about 6/32nds on the inside and 12/32nds on the outside. When I just balanced them, the fronts were out 3.5oz.

Yes. I saw.
But...Looks like you have an alignment problem. If so, no tires will wear evenly until that’s fixed.

About balance... On Ridge Grspplers, balance guys screwed the up royally. Like 6 oz off! I had to immediately go to another shop to get it done right. Believe it or not...it was a Wal-Mart tire shop on a road trip that identified just how badly my prior ship screwed it up just two days earlier. Seemed ok til they changed to their “dynamic” balance setting on their machine...and it was then drastically better.

All that to say...some balance guys have no idea what they are doing. Case in point...my first installer who was off by 6 oz!

Looks like you have an alignment problem though.

The alignment is being checked and set by @Taco2Cruiser before I put new tires on, as yea, not playing this game again. Just waiting for my BudBuilt parts to be finished up and then I'll be dropping my truck off.

To give you an idea, the tires have nearly 12k on them (I think) and have never been rotated AFAIK. Also the cold tire PSI when I picked the truck up 2k ago was set in the high 40s, so about 10 psi higher than needed. We'll get it sorted, no worries.

Nice. Sounds like u are in good hands. Speaking of @Taco2Cruiser ...I’m about to take delivery on some SS BB skids & shock guards...

In other news...I’m also about to take off my still-new-ish Ridge Grappler 35’s and drop in 285/75/17...possibly sticking with Ridge Grapplers, though I haven’t decided yet.

If anyone is looking for a great set of 5, 35x12.5x17 Ridge Grapplers...let me know as they’ll be up for sale soon. Perhaps someone running a Tundra front end, or other accommodations for 35’s.

Might be interested in your beat up Arb skids....that is if they aren’t already called for!

Yeah I’m excited to get my hands on it. Side note the skids are basically done. The sliders with custom feature are still being refined. But we are close. I’d like to talk sometime soon about them.

I’m laying in a hospital bed right now as an operation went bad earlier today. Man, I’ve experienced some “up there” pain in my life. But damn, anesthesia wasn’t enough and I woke up while I was cut open, and felt... everything. Honestly, I had a flashback I was in Iraq, laying facing up and remembering some friends looking down on me, not able to hear anything. Then those faces turned into these strangers. I had no idea what has happening or where I was. Then I realized they were doctors. Then I realized they were my doctors. I asked what happened, and they told me after I woke up they hit me with a little too much juice and my heart rate and blood pressure bottomed out.

So now I get to stay here for some amount of time as they make sure my organs start working again. Should be few days. Not a big deal, just sucks.

Positive thoughts and good juju headed your way. Hope you’re “better than stock” soon.

@Taco2Cruiser
Ugh...! Not good, Rob!
Sheesh.
You’ve had enough, man...
Heal, buddy.

Here... Sending flowers and my dog... :hillbilly::cheers:
