@NQCruiser - what are we looking at here? blow out or tread delaminate? bumper looks like its a bit outta whack
Willy beamin, I'm thinking delamination from a slow leak/puncture. It was fine when I walked around the vehicle an hour before, but I came around a gentle right hander and it felt a bit squirrelly. I put the foot on the brake and it just went bang, took out the bumper & nearly tore the A/C lines out of the rear floor. Then the tyre caught on the bottom of the shock mount bracket welded to the diff and tore the inner sidewall almost all the way out. I used a 4in angle grinder on my inverter to cut through the beads so I could separate what was left of the tyre from the rim.

Best bit is, I went to a company in town that do 200 Series ute conversions & got a new rear bumper & tailgate (damaged previously), which they promise to fit, for $400 cash!!

@NQCruiser Which brand and series tire was that? Good to hear you were able to remedy it. Scary

Got the rack on

Finally mounted up the Baja Design S8 light bar........ damn this thing is bright and throws light so far down the road for it's size...... not as far as the ONX6 50" that i had on my Heep but it makes the Hella 4000 seem useless....

The bar fit perfectly into the valance on the Prinsu - and it is dead quiet VERY happy !

need to clean up the wiring when I get back after my trip to Kooks this week, but it'll be awesome for the drive...

Also got the tiedown mounted on the ARB drawers - have a spare second set for anyone local to houston, decided not to have them on both sides.

Got RWs on finally. TPMS not working.

What do I need to do now?

Looks great!

When you say "not working" do you mean not at all? Or just not showing the correct tires (like showing the spare pressure when it's really on a corner spot).
Did you re-use the same TPMS sensors from your stock wheels?
If so, you shouldn't have to do anything, unless the spare (5th sensor) is missing.

Easiest bet is swapping the tpms sensors to your RWs and they 'should' work. Discount Tire charged me $40 to swap sensors. If the sensors are from a RW Tundra (according to my dealer so take with a grain of salt) they aren't compatible with the LCs.

Otherwise, off to the dealer to have them techstream it. My local wanted $90 for a reprogram.

I've read where people order Toyota TIS off eBay to manage sensors. Anybody?

You can order the Mini-VCI cable and download the software. Getting the software to work on a 64bit system takes driver trickery though. If you have an old 32bit laptop it'll be far easier, getting the software key for your version can be a pain but do-able. I won't go into details on here for obvious reasons.

RWs came with TPMS included. Old rims still have oem sensors in them.

-If you had swapped your old TPMS into your RWs, they would have worked fine. Since these are sensors the computer hasn't seen before, you'll have to have them programmed to be recognized by your system. The best way (in my opinion) would be to have them cloned to match your originals, because then you could swap wheel sets without needing to reprogram...

-I think Discount Tire was wrong. They work fine on either Tundra or LC. The difference in sensor build angle is different only if switching from steel wheels, but OEM and RW are the same sensor type. If you Tundra wheels were steel? Then ya.

It was the Toyota dealer that told me this. But like I said, the dealer isn't exactly the most reliable source of credible information.

I decided I didn't like how SHINY the black grill was as it came...so I applied flat black plastic fusion paint.
I figure it will better match my eventual bull bar. To me...unless you have a shiny black Cruiser, a super shiny black grill looks a bit off...

I noticed it looks lighter in this photo compared to in person. It's flat black...

Ah. I mixed up KY's post with yours. :)

Discount Tire will repack each of them for like $7-9 each... And ya... Who knows what Toyota was doing... ;)

I bought a set of lightly used 35x12.50x17 Toyo AT2s to put on a set of Rock Warriors that will go on next weekend. The Duratracs on there right now are a little small for my tastes, so I'm hoping I can get these 35s to work out!

What have you done under there to allow 35's to fit?

Ain't gonna work without the Slee sway bar relocation bracket. Call Christo and see if he has any in stock. Don't waste your efforts without it. I like your tenacity though. Square peg.....

I need to fill out my signature with more details, but I have the OME 2" heavy kit with adjustable SPC upper control arms. I wanted to buy a used set of 35s just in case they won't work, but I'm hopeful they will. My last ride had 37" KO2s, so it kinda skewed my sense of size tires I "need" :)

What Willy said... ;) But at least you got a nice set to play with when you tweak a few things.
