Awesome on the icebox install, do you still have a cd changer?

No the cd changer went long ago and was replaced by an pod. I don't think i even own enough cd's to fill it but have plenty of mp3's.

I would to upgrade my LX's lights. I want the "that guy's an a$$hole" brightness.

We're doing a pearl pass out of aspen to crested butte and back via schofield with a 40 an fj and my 100. Time will decide the schofield return. 7-21-13.

My first post in this section. I finally got my jack and jack stands so I did my oil change and drive shaft lube today. I was going to rotate the tires but I found out the front wheel lug nuts are all on too tight as well as one of the ones in the rear. I will have to take it to a shop and use an air ratchet to get them loose and then re tighten with the lug wrench.
I had the usual first time questions, where to put the jack, to jack up the front, where was the oil drain plug and where are the grease zerks. Jack stand placement becomes sorta obvious once you get under the truck.
I didnt really get a sense of how big and heavy and solid the thing is until I got under it. I whole heartedly say get the biggest jack you can afford/physically pick up and get the biggest jack stands that you can. I'd take 6 ton HF stands on sale over anyone elses 3 ton or 4 ton stands, just because they're beefier. I wasn't scared being under the truck on the 3 ton stands... but the jack was also under it and the tires where on it.
One thing I will say for doing oil changes and such yourself. I discovered the cover for the oil filter is missing, the lug nuts are on to tight and that it really needed grease in many of the zerks. Also in this heat, the I think all the jack stands sank some into the asphalt.
The truck really runs smoother now that I pumped grease into the zerks. No thud in the rear. Grease only oozed out of the 3 of the zerks and I missed the front propeller shaft one so I will probably be back under it next week. I took picts of the zerks and will post if anyone is interested.

Zerk picts

The first pict is the zerk closest to the transfer case for the rear u joint
Second pict is the rear zerk, rear u joint
Third pict is the rear propeller
With the truck off the ground and the parking brake off you can hand turn the rear propeller shaft and turn both propeller shafts

Zerks 2

First pict is the zerk on the front propeller shaft closest to transfer case. There maybe a fiber board covering that you have to take off to get to this one. Mine is missing but I see screw holes that must be for a cover

Second pict is the zerk on the front of the propeller closest to the front axle. You definitely have to take a fiberboard cover down to get to it.

Possible Air horn location

I get the feeling that I should be able to hide a air horn in this spot under the truck

HAHAHA, I've wanted to do that for years!...for all the bad drivers out there. I laugh because I'm not sure you want to install for the same reason I do. If you do install, please post on tech thread.

gimme 2-3 months... on the horn if I go eletric, now if I can find a compressor and a train horn...
got as question. I have a little mini grease gun and a full size one. The full size wont take the grease cartridges for some reason and I could only find mobil one grease in the cans. I forced as much as I could into the mini gun and tried to compress it down but there were times when I could feel any grease coming out of it. Which is one reason why it looks so messy in the picts. Will using the grease cartridges in the grease gun make it so that I dont hit voids, or is there away to pack grese into the gun? Also I really see a battery operated grease gun in my future pumping a grease gun can wear you out
