Does this count? Slid off a rock and hit a stump

So, as a cumulative gift for both my birthday and for Father's Day, my wife ordered my OME 1.5" heavy lift kit from Cruiser Outfitters. Thanks to Kurt for helping my wife, who knew nothing of lift kits, but just wanted to get something for her husband that was specifically his (mine)!

Boxes arrived yesterday evening, so I have not had a chance to take them out of the shipping box to examine, but I am looking forward to it tonight! I read through the thread on cutting the 1.5" holes in the back to access the top nuts on the rear shock mounts, but I still need to purchase the diff drop, air bags, and other assorted necessities before I tear into this one! I AM looking forward to it!

Very nice OregonLC! I may have to pick up a set of those wrenches! Funny thing is that I am more concerned that she got me the Heavy springs than anything else. Right now, I don't have the bumpers I am planning for and it may take a bit of time to acquire them, given their price points, so I am thinking that the ride would be rough, to say the least. On the other hand, I do have a blown front shock...

I ran the 866 medium springs for a year before adding bumpers and it wasn't objectionable. If anything, the stock LC is way under sprung and floaty.

863s are what came with the set up. I am completely unfamiliar with OME's tagging with regards to their spring rates and stuff. (Not my realm of expertise.) As per the OME catalog, they are not the most stiff, but also not the most forgiving. I will be reading some other threads to get a better feel and I have an email out to Kurt over at Cruiser Outfitters to get his thoughts.

w/o a bumper, the 863's are going to be way too stiff. I'm considering changing to 865's or Slee's and I have a rear bumper.

Yeah, that maybe true. It will be interesting to see. I may just have to sell that drum set downstairs and go buy a bumper...

Just a question, but with this lift (1.5") would you recommend the diff drop or not? If I am going to do it, I might as well get it ordered and coming to me... Right now, I am sitting at the kitchen table with my 80's front brake calipers rebuilding them.;)

I hit a mud pit sideways and broke something in the front end... There's some kind of grinding noise when I turn the wheels left or right and accelerate, but I'm not sure what it is. Getting my tie rods and CV Boots done tomorrow!

You're going to destroy your truck faster than I will. You probably blew a CV or bent something. Any shaking or vibration?

No shaking or vibration at all, just kind of a grinding noise on some turns. It sounds like it's coming from the right side of the truck, but I guess we'll see what ACC says tomorrow. My hopes is either tie rod or CV cause they're both being swapped out tomorrow. Initially when I came out of the pit the steering wheel was all over the place but I drove it completely straight for about 100ft and everything corrected itself and now I'm left with that grinding noise (slight vibration in the floor pans due to the grinding).

I wouldn't keep driving if its grinding.

New OME suspension with 2.5" lift! I love the way my looks and rides now!
