Had some jewelry from Motorsport-Tech show up today. Fresh 1" BORA spacers. These things are really nice. Can't wait to get them put on this weekend. Got new shoes ordered to be put on Monday. Going from 285/65/18 K02s to 275/70/18 Milestar Patagonia X/Ts. I'll share before and after pics in a few days.

What wheels do you have? At 1" those spacers won't fit unless your wheels have recesses on the mounting surface in between the lug holes. For 100's, spacers need to be at least 1.25" to clear the OEM studs if those recesses in the wheel aren't present. As a 100 owner with steel wheels w/o recesses I had to go with 1.25" spacers.

As @rbrave pointed out, you have a steering rack leak (the buggered boot is the inner tie rod). Honestly hard to know how long its been going on or how bad it is. Recommend flushing the hydraulic oil and adding AT-205. AT-205 reconditions the rubber seals and gives you a shot at slowing down or stopping the leak.

A clunk/pop at full turn is normally associated with a bad CV axle. What we can see of the inner boot looks pretty good, actually, but again, unknown the brand of axle or whats going on under the boots. Given your unfamiliarity, though, make sure your center diff lock is not engaged. That would also cause binding at full turn.

When I start with a new to me truck, I always change all of the fluids and add AT-205 to recondition the seals. I'm a fan of Valvoline synthetics, but I'll use Mobil 1 in a pinch. I then exercise the transfer case and center lock every time I drive it for a while, until they work very freely. Many times on these they don't get much use and bind up. Fresh oil and regular use frees them up in no time. Make sure you also check the axle breathers are breathing, and not clogged.
Just went back and under and looked. The boot is cracked at the top… not sure if that is helpful
I couldn’t find the front axle breather tube but the rear looks to be good.

I've got the factory 18" wheels. They have cavities on the back the provide the relief needed.

Somebody fed me bad information and now I’m spreading that again. My apologies, and this is why we fact check everything we read on the internet folks. So I guess it was optional on the LC after all, but standard on LX.

Anyone have a window sticker for theirs with the cabin filter ?
All good! I had my 2000 LC for at least a year before I actually checked and found the slot for them :) sorry if my tone was a little abrupt just wanted to chime in that some year 100s have the cabin filters. I thought it was originally just the 98-00 years but I don't think that is fully accurate either.

nice approach here to clean the fins on the condenser which I also think for folks who have cabin filters could be a good move since it seems like most of the times I've read folks finding out they do have a cabin filter and opening the cover only to find no filters installed (my case as well).

The LX470 is getting a new front end. Suspension that is; spent the day pulling the old A-arms off. All the rubber is going..I think I'm keeping the lift height sensor linkages - everything else is going.

Number 2 son got an early birthday present:

1,600 lb·ft of (advertised) torque; it got a workout today. One charge and it was still going when we quit. I bought it for him because I know it'll be years before he has the room for a compressor, and not having a strong impact is no fun. It was nice not having to drag air hose all over creation, too.

The lower rear A-arm nuts would not budge, for some reason. So, in the spirit of doing the right thing the wrong way, I put a wrench on the nut and zipped the bolt. They both came out, no problem. I'm stumped. I could see the nuts stuck in if they were serrated flange nuts, but they're not. Oh well, all's well that ends well.

Not counting the plastic pins holding the inner fender covers on (and who does?), I only broke one thing: now I need a new DS ABS connector housing. Crap. That little lock tab just didn't want to move...

Tomorrow is cleaning day and Tuesday is "going back together" day. :)

If you take a closer look at those lower A-arm nuts, you'll see that while not fully serrated, they do have some locking teeth that engage on some serrations on the frame. I did the exact same thing - just about rattled my teeth out with the impact before I tried from the bolt side with no issues.

Installed one of these AUXbeam mounts that I designed & sell now - still need to mount the relay box & run the control cable, but I think it's a pretty clean solution!

After breaking/ replacing both torsion bar bolts and anchors, got them properly adjusted. Cruiser Patch had the factory parts and it’s a world of a difference not needing heat and breaker bars to adjust. Also rattle canned factory wheels out of boredom.

New shoes! Went with a tire I hadn't seen anyone put on an LC yet. After tons of research and reading reviews I decided to go with the Milestar Patagonia X/T in 275/70/18. Also installed 1" BORA spacers a couple days ago. So far I've only got about 20-25 miles on them but they are indescribably better than the worn out 285/65 K02s I replaced. I've had the K02s since I got the truck in early 2018 and put about 50.000 miles on them so they were certainly due. But, they always seemed to have a bit of an imbalance even though I had them rebalanced 2-3 times. These are smooth as glass at 70. Far smoother than the K02s ever were and far far quieter.

They have deeeeeep tread at 19/32s and are 33.5" according to the spec sheet. they seem to be much more true to size than the K02s were.

The rear suspension components are now wirebrushed within an inch of losing my sanity and after a good rust treatment, undercoating and blast with Buzzweld for a top coat, I'm ready to put all the control arms, Pedders springs and shocks and cleaned up anti roll bar and panhard rod back on when it's all dry.

And I've removed a load of stick on foam from the side trim and rubbing all that down to a reasonable level ready for a blast of plastic primer and some satin black paint.

So obviously my key has now broken and the D light has gone out on the Dash.

This never ending task is never ending 😄

Awesome!! Thanks for paving the way I was sooo close to getting these but no one had said anything about them really except in some Jeep forums. Keep us posted as you take them on trail and such!
