I pulled over in a panic last week when I noticed no oil pressure being shown on the gauge while sitting at a stop light. The oil was fine, hoping it is just the sensor.

The FSM has a procedure to test the oil pressure. In my case, I was pretty confident the sensor was just faulty so I just went with that instead of testing first.

Stating to build my dream rig. 2004 LC 100 with 130k on the clock. Fairly rust free and clean for the build. Able to take the wife and 5 kids into the mountains and leave cell service behind.

Got some new Method 17” 705’s and wrapped them in some BF KO2’s (285/70/17). No lift and no rubbing. Ironman Pro 2” lift next weekend with some SPC UCA’s and a diff drop kit. Also have some White Knuckle sliders on the way.

Hope to hit portions of the Golden Horseshoe System near Breck over the 4th. I’d like to give Red Cone and Webster Pass a go while we’re there…View attachment 3351439View attachment 3351440View attachment 3351441
White’s out… H8er’s gonna H8.
Don’t let them get under your skin, looks bad to the bone!

Came in the mail today, will share my thoughts on how they perform and some light output shots soon. Really curious about it’s dimmable function. Solis AR36 spotties.

Not much:
  • Oil change
  • Air filter
  • Heater T’s
  • Timing belt & water pump kit
  • Tensioners
  • Pulleys
  • Serpentine
  • Fan clutch
  • Fan pulley bracket
  • Fan bracket bearing
  • Power steering pump & resevoir
  • Starter
  • Secdry Air Injection Pump
  • Secdry Air Injection Valve
  • Manifold gaskets
  • Air Driver Assy.
  • Air Injection Valve Assy.
  • Front wheel bearings
  • Front CV trans axles
  • Brake fluid flush

WHAT HAD HAPPENED WUZ...
  • I replaced all eight fuel injectors with reman Densos. I left the driver-side fuel rail in place and only lifted it up to sneak the old injectors out. Too many things to break with my sausage fingers.
  • (1) new Denso coil on cylinder #7
  • (2) new fuel injector plugs (a couple had broken tabs)

Going to replace the heater and vacuum hoses, anyone have recommendations?

The Mishimoto and HPS look good.

For heater hoses, I'll agree that OEM or really any rubber option is good. Silicone is porous and using it for heater/radiator hoses is not a best practice. I found this out after I bought but before I installed my HPS heater hoses, so if you decide to ignore my advice, I have some for you at a steep discount.

As for vacuum hoses, I bought a variety pack of silicone hose on Amazon and replaced all the vacuum hose on the rig one at a time, cutting to length as needed. Keep in mind some of the hoses are larger at one end than the other, so you may need to get creative, spend some extra time working slightly smaller hose into place (what I did), or buy some extra worm clamps to make sure it all goes on right without leaks.

Sir War Rig,

Thank you for saving me from a bad decision. Your words shall be remembered as I click the “complete purchase” buttons.

Installed a ScanGauge 3 with the Spiker Engineering mount. Still not 100% happy with the mount position, but I love having the new ScanGauge.

Have you thought about a Ram Mount there? I almost installed my ham there but decided to go a different direction.

Looks like Wit's End (@NLXTACY) has something similar but for an 80 series. See A-Pillar (Oh Sh!t Handle).

Guys with Tacos do something similar as do the 200 crowd.

Muscle, steel, and sex appeal is what comes to mind when I look at these newly installed Hitachi Coils, paired with DENSO Iridium long life plugs. I also changed out the air filter today with a basic FRAM. Simple maintenance to some, but it made me feel good. All but two of my plugs were hand tight. Only one coil had a crack, and they all look to be OG Toyota DENSO's, with possibly one or two of them replaced with OEM over the last 262k miles. Do I just discard them all, or are they worth saving? Without knowing how many miles are on them, I can't see myself ever reusing them...
I aimed plug torque to 13 ft.lbs., but torque range was from 13 to 15.
Not sure if it's just my deep sense of satisfaction, or if the LC is actually running better. Probably a little of both!

Where did you buy them from and how much was it? I need to do the same thing.

It’s new to me by two weeks, but wait, there’s more! My new check engine light code (420) tells me my catalytic converter is cooked. Looked at my radiator today and I’m suspicious of its longevity, and I’m assuming pretty sure my subwoofer and tweeters have experienced dry rot. I knew going in there would be issues to conquer, some of which were preemptively repaired while the front of the engine was torn down and the manifold off. If I had some of the repairs done individually, that would have jacked the cost of repair waaaay up. I have little experience and tools to do all this myself.

Cold spell of weather down here in NZ so nice to spend it in the shop!! Finally got around to getting the switches wired up in the panel Ben 3D printed for me, the panel itself has been in place but I never got around to running the wires etc. Also cut some holes and flush mounted some day time runners in the bullbar.
