Think it's the angle. That thing is tight. any movement increases RPMs with no hesitation that I have seen. But good call nonetheless I will double-check to confirm.

Pulled the head unit out and installed the bt45-toy to improve the Bluetooth situation. Not as bad as I was expecting. Now I just need to figure out where to put the microphone. It looks like garbage just hanging down by the rear view mirror right now. Next up is replacing the door speakers with something that doesn’t sound like the cone is barely hanging on by a shred of paper.

Can you run it up the headliner and clip it on the left/rear side of the map lights as close to the rear as possible? Keeps the wind noise to a minimum there while you try screaming over the tires. Or on the steering column collar toward the passenger side. You will still get some driveline noise but helps with the wind as well.

I mounted my Kenwood microphone on the far right side of the instrument bezel… it works well… I’ve been told that my calls sound like I am at home, so road noise is negligible.
Cable routing to this location is simple as well…

I may have to move mine to here. We’ll see how the sound is today while I’m on the road. Luckily dash want too hard to take apart so rerouting won’t be too hard. Thanks for the heads up
Awesome thanks! I work at my local Toyota parts dept, so just ordered the emblem on the tail gate PN #75431-60060. Glad they are still available.
Went to install a speaker in the door I knew was shot, and the new speaker required new holes to be drilled in the mounting bracket, and I definitely overestimated my old audio skills that apparently are a use it or lose it type skill. Completely blanked on how to install crossovers or where to wire what. Also the wire harness adapters that were sent were the wrong ones so got to reinstall the busted speaker until a later date where I have more time to work. An hour wasn’t enough. I honestly shouldn’t have gotten the set with stuff I’d never messed with before live and learn it didn’t help that I got the open box selection and no instructions came in it
Manufacturers instructions should be available online
Just change my Intake Filter. Does anybody know what this is on the top of the air box? Is there a way to clean or replace this it looks dirty.

My '99 does not have one as well. Perhaps that is a '03+ only airbox?
Installed walker muffler and resonator, direct replacement. Had zero issues installing it, saw some comments about needing to bend rods, etc. did not experience anything like that. Nice kit delivered in two days from rockauto.

I’m not sure when they became commonplace but it’s a late model thing. My ‘07 has one.
