Prinsu rack came in yesterday.

I'd start on welding the coastal skid plate while I have some momentum, but it turns out that I'd rather have beers on the beach. Weird huh?

...hmmm, maybe I should buff all of that pinstriping. On the other hand, I would just pinstripe it again :hillbilly:
I dunno man- I got my PC7424 after my other project car the other day and it looks so much better that I'm thinking the Lexus will probably get it too, even if that's just to give some love to the paint overall in advance of repainting the stuff that REALLY has to have it (top of the hood- no clear left). And my truck is absolutely no showpiece. After the rest of it is all slicked up, it'll repel pinstriping too... somewhat.

Got my order off 3/8 stainless black oxide coated bolts and replaced these bolts on my wind fairing. That’s just two wells out in the elements. Just do yourself a favor and spend the money and buy the right stuff. I bought them in a pinch locally and now you know why

I put on a coat of wax and really amazed how well the paint is holding up for an 04. There blems but overall it’s holding up

So the UCA mounting bolts near the frame had come loose? How loose were they? Did you just take a guess and threw a wrench on it and found they weren't as tight as they should be? I have a similar sound that I'm chasing and there's a very good possibility this is the culprit
Correct. I would say that I was able to get at least 2 full turns on the nut before they were really snugged up.

The reason I thought to explore the controls arms was because I have already searched every square inch of the lower suspension for any worn or loose parts and couldn't find the cause of my knocking. I noticed shortly after a trail I did my alignment was pulling left so I decided to check the (2) nuts on each control arm and that's when I noticed that as I was tightening them down I could hear the crunch of the small rocks/dust making noises as the gap was closing.

I also used a pry bar to wedge in between the frame and control arm and could see there was a small amount of forward and backward movement.

Radiator, heater hose and Ts replaced. Washed it.

Well, how did it look after the wash? I also spy a nice looking TJ Rubi lurking in the back. I've had my TJ Rubi since 2003. Don't tell anybody around here, but it is still my favorite vehicle :worms:

Had a suspect alternator so I swapped it out. Not a terrible job but certainly not the easiest car to do. The old alternator's casing was dented in on the wiring harness plug, so I had to undent it to allow it to unlatch...was a pain given the available working space. But now I have peace of mind!

'04 for me, missed getting one the first year. I still drive it like a go cart lol The LC cleaned up nicely. The hood needs compounding and polishing, the clear coat has gotten hazy from lack of wax and washing in the past. Cheers!

Been using the 100 for my summer project:

Driving through a construction zone, where three lanes narrow to one. One of the construction workers dropped a can of spray paint, that rolled into the road. Bumper to bumper 30mph rush hour traffic.

The bursting can sounded like a shotgun blast.

What a mess…
Fluorescent pink paint in the wheel well, all down the slider and lower third of the vehicle 🤬

I don’t know if the guy that dropped the can got any paint on himself, but I’m pretty sure that he 💩 himself from the noise.

Finally started working on the coastal skid plate.

Spoke with Brandon about bending up some tubing to add a ladder to the rear bumper swingout. Hoping to start that within the next week or two. Have a trip planned to an offroad park with a fair amount of rocks, so I might just go ahead and order the their sliders, too. This truck is going to bankrupt me!

Working on the rear part of the dual battery setup for Trinity. BlueSea fuse block installed and wired for accessories (so far just two BlueSea dual USB plugs and the fridge plug). Positive and negative 2 ga wires run from back to front (not yet wired up to battery).

Good looking rig! I always wondered what I should/could do with that opening in the back. :) Where is your AUX battery located?
