Have you checked your steering rack bushings? Mine had the same symptoms when I had a bad passenger side bushing
I have been having similar problem where it pulls from right to left, after driving on highway for some time. If I stop and wait a couple of minutes, it goes away for a while. I think I have heard the occasional small clang on passenger side before it happens i.e. side opposite to where it pulls.
When it first started I had the steering rack and pinion replaced with a refurbished one, that seemed to help quite a bit, able to travel on highway for quite a distance with no issues. Also, it seems to have started after I previously had the power steering pump replaced.
Doing a bit of research online with the symptoms I've been experiencing - starts with gentle pulls & sways to left until it gets progressively worse - could it be the upper ball joint?
Again - thank you so much Forum members for all your comments & recommendations! I'm so glad I discovered this resource for helping with issues with my beloved 2001 Land Cruiser.

Refreshed both lower control arms with 555 ball joints and OEM bushings. Using threaded rod that just fits through a 3/4 ~33mm socket was the key to pressing out the one in the frame. I was able to use the same socket to knock the one in the arm out with a hammer.

I've had a question about these. Do they work while driving ? Just installed ceramic tint which has 0 signal interference. One of these would rock

Yes! They plug into your 12V and intended to be used while driving or parked.

OE step boards are gone so no more courtesy light when you depart or try to get in, I decided to restore the feature.

I am rocking the same rock lights too! I find them very useful 👌

I do have one unusual issue with the rock lights- when they are ON, my key remote doesn't work!
So the remote will unlock the driver's door and then the rock light will come on and the remote will not work anymore! 30 sec later when the rock lights time out and turn off, the remote will start locking and unlocking again!

Any ideas what could cause this?

I agree, it can be very useful. Do you have aftermarket remote start installed on your truck?
I’ve got the same lights. Holding up pretty well so far, say 4 months? They’re a big hit on dates!
Yes the biggest fan of this so far is my 3yo daughter she thinks we own a spaceship lol. That’s good to know and I hope this thing last

Thanks for suggestion re Steering rack bushings. They SHOULD be OK as I would hope they'd have been replaced when they installed new steering rack. Of course, maybe they've slipped or weren't installed properly?

Where are you guys tying into the right power? My stock running boards didn’t have any wires or lights attached to them. Was this only a feature after ‘99?

No after market install remote start that I know of. Perhaps the PO did, but why do you think it could factor into this? Anything specific I should look into?

If you can find the wire for the dome lights down near the fuse panel in the drivers foot well, you can tap into that and run it through a grommet in the floor to any aftermarket light. That would make the light turn on when you unlock the truck, off when you lock it, and on anytime you have a door open.

Right on! Thanks I see a new mini project in my future.

Try to check under the area of the front seat passenger or driver (this was taken under the driver seat) there is a provisioned harness for the underglow courtesy light original designed for the oe stepboard.

The closest possibility that I can think of is Techstream. PO or service tech may have changed a setting within Techstream bec afaik your analog electricals are working. The electrical line of the courtesy underglow light doesn’t even have a relay or fuse tap. It just uses low voltage supply coming off a specific ECU in the vehicle.

Sweet! Any drone at highway speeds?
If there is any I don’t notice it. Compared to the rusted out muffler I was running this exhaust is pure class! Really quieted up the ride and makes it sound like it did back when she was new. Installed it on my own, had to cut off the bolts at the exhaust flanges but with some new gaskets and bolts the fitment was perfect. Borla doesn’t mess around!

Built a drawer / fridge slide, and took it out on a (literal) shake out trip to Big Bend this weekend. It did great and accomplished exactly what I was after. It’s not pretty yet, but I’ll probably poly it and add some handles. I used UHMW plastic for the lower drawer “slide”. Works great, about $75 cheaper than a locking slide and the drawer can be 1/2” wider. I’m into this ~$250 due to the ridiculous cost of materials, and I’d be surprised if it weighs 50lb.
